  • 07 GMC Vortec Overheating?

hen warmed up, 2 min after starting and idling the temp gauge goes up and shuts down the engine. Doesn't appear to actually overheat. What sensor, and where is it, that sends temp into to the ECU?

  • Have you changed the oil in your smart car?

If you have - Did you have problems removing the oil drain plug? I have a 2008 Passion Cabriolet bought used two months ago. The oil filter came off without any problems and it had an OEM oil filter.

I assume the oil plug has right hand threads. I used about a 4' breaker bar with a 24 mm socket and put on 150 ft lbs or maybe more and it didn't budge. The torque spec I have for that plug is 48 ft lbs so the 150 plus ft lbs should have broken it free. Please let me know. Thanks.

  • What to get wife of 34 yrs for Christmas? Forget jewerly, clothes, perfumes, spas, cooking for her, candies...?

Okay is is kind of a "tom boy' so forget all of the "girlie stuff" what doesn't work is clothes, jewelry, perfumes, spas, I already cook for her and make her favorite candy and help around the house with cleaning, doing laundry right now. She is the family's CFO and when she sees something she wants she just buys it. I don't want to give her "work things" like kitchen appliances which we have already. Her favorite thing is the pets, 4 dogs and 2 cats so cannot really give her any more. Okay, in 34 Christmases I hit a home run once when I got her a cell phone, a red wagon she wanted since she was a kid, and she is a NASCAR fan so I bought her a "Richard Petty Driving Experience" so she could go eight laps in a NASCAR. I sure would like to hit another home run... help!

  • Need a recipe for a very soft bread to make buns. Very, very soft with as thin of a crust as possible. Help?

I want to make burger buns that are very soft, very light, very airy; just firm enough to hold the burger, quarter to half a pound, and all of the condiments. The bun should absorb all of the flavors and yet not really add flavor in and of its self. So far the buns I've made are too heavy. Any bakers out there, please help!

  • New Dell Laptop USB port problem?

A new dell Inspiron 15 has strange problem. It thinks there is something "unknown device" plugged into the USB ports. It cannot be shut down using "task master" so this message pops up every few seconds saying the "unknown or malfunctioning device" is connected. When it does this the card reader doesn't work, either.

By putting an USB device in all three USB ports it stops the error message.

It is new so it is under warranty and Best Buy will fix it. But I took it there once and the error message wouldn't pop up.

Do any of you have any advice?
