  • Club Constitution for a Religious Denomination?

I am creating a religious club for an alternative viewpoint. There is already a mainstream club in place that is supposed to serve our interests, but it does not do what we want, and their means and their ends are not desirable. They influence the ignorants to their side, and thus create a popular following, and very few challenge their views because we have argued this out with them till we were blue in the face without result; in short many are resigned.

Realizing that logic and argument would not suffice, we decided to create an alternative club with the intention of offering what many of the members of the other club sought and wanted, an alternative viewpoint from the extremist ideologies that they were preaching.

One of the requirements for our club is that membership will be open to all. However in the interests of not being 'hijacked' by the same denomination that we are defending against, are there any restrictions that we can put in place? Essentially, we want to make sure that when elections are next held, we don't get some Thomas or Bob with ideas that could endanger the original purpose that this group was created upon. Could we demand that the applicant illustrate their knowledge, competence, understanding, and support for our ideals prior to accepting him/her as a member? Any policies must be in agreement with the Ontario Human Rights Code (Canada), and any provincial/federal laws as well according to the university prior to submitting an application for approval.

    Thank you all.

  • Leaving/Deleting Assistance?

Assalamu3laikum everyone. I'm leaving YA. The ramadan section has really changed from being a serious place to ask questions about Islam to one where stupid questions about how you feel, to questions that make a mockery of Islam are the norm. I've already tried to help you by answering as many relevant questions as possible, but you keep posting the same kinds of questions not content with the answers given to you. Your objective not being to learn, but to cause conflict, problems, and settle scores of my way is right/his way is wrong. Don't you know that in this time, the most important requirement of the ummah to rise up and attain its former glory is unity? Stop your pointless bickering, no one on here will change their minds if everyone believes that they're right, and everyone else is wrong.

Aside from that, there is much I want to do instead of being holed up on a site waiting for someone to ask an intelligent question. And some of the users on here weren't that great either. Some of you were nice people, although I prefer not to get into specifics.

Well anyways, here's my question: If any of you know a way to delete your Yahoo Answers account, could you please post here, thanks.

  • VEOH WEB PLAYER HELP!?

This new web player with VEOH. Does it require you to download the episode greater than 25 min prior to watching it? Or is there another way to stream it online? I'm getting sick of getting 5 minute previews, and then waiting 30 minutes to watch it. Am I not doing something? Also I know other sites exist to watch anime off of, but veoh usually has good quality, thanks.

  • When did the ramadan section...?

When did this section become the place for asking all sorts of questions about Islam? When I first came here, I thought it was meant for questions on fasting, and ramadan. LOL This is like Muslimville now. Don't forget that there are other sections where non Muslims ask questions about Islam and where Muslims do the same. It's good to be in one area, but we should do dawah in others too:P.

  • Where do you go for Islamic Answers?

    Assalamu3laikum to all my viewers.

I just wanted to know, do you get your Islamic Questions answered on this site? Like, do you rely on Yahoo Answers for Islamic Fatwa's or just other Muslim's opinions?

The reason I have asked this is because I have noticed that many a time, a person adopts a wrong solution because another user has inadvertently given their own interpretation of Islam against what Islam has actually decided on some topics. There are many muslim sites out there to take advantage of: Sites such as, www.askimam.org, and www.sunnipath.com, and even http://www.al-inaam.com/ As a Muslim, I would like to ask each of you to go and ask your respective Ulama about a matter prior to deciding if something is halal or haram. The Ulama, Mufti's, Maoulana's are there to help you learn more about Islam. That is why I wanted to ask this question, to see what the underlying trend is, and to remind the Muslims about other options that exist as well.

  • Best Answer Problem in Voting?

When a questioner becomes lazy, he lets other people vote on the question. However, what ends up happening most of the time is that the people that posted, only vote for themselves, which is counterproductive and makes the voting drag on. And the other problem is that when another person is actually voting on the best answer, he's likely to only read the first few entries and come to a descision. Or sometimes, due to their biases, they will immediately reject Anti-American Foreign policy answers because it gives them epilepsy when they are confronted by ideals and truths that are different from what the media spoon feeds them. What's your take, are you as frustrated as I am?

  • Red Alert 3 Key Invalid?

Hey I just bought a Red Alert 3 game from EB Games yesterday. I tried putting in the activation code, but it said it was invalid. Now today, I returned it and got another game, but again I have the same issue. My computer is a gaming grade juggernaut. The game is powered by steam, and I think they're big on activating online. Since I don't have a network connection in my room, does this mean I have to lug it downstairs to my basement, hook it up to the ethernet cable and try to install it again? Or is there a problem with the keycode? Or is it a bad batch from EB Games? What do you think is messing me over? Please help me, I'm dying to play it.

  • Reporters From All Media Corporations Banned from Entering Gaza?

The Media is only allowed to see things while being behind the Israeli side. Entry into Gaza is forbidden. However in the past journalists have usually been treated well even in war time by both sides. Why do you think this is happening? Even during the invasion of Iraq/Afghanistan media was allowed unfettered access to the area. So what is your theory? I have one, but I want to see what others think of this.

  • What's your take on Nobel-winning playwright Harold Pinter's statement:?

"The crimes of the U.S. throughout the world have been systematic, constant, clinical, remorseless and fully documented but nobody talks about them," he said.

  • Glass, Solid or Liquid?

In my high school science class, our teacher would tell us that glass was an extremely slow moving liquid. However whenever I mention it, people contradict me saying it's a solid. Can you please not give personal opinions. I don't care what you think, I get enough of that. I want facts and scientific theory to back up what you say. Thank you.
