  • How can I get a dog out of the pound?

Animal control pulled into my yard and told me they were going to take my neighbor's dog to the pound because she was running around. I tried to talk him out of it. He asked me to put her in the truck and he left with her. I feel bad. Even though he said he was going to take her anyway, I'm afraid that my putting her in the truck may make it harder for my neighbor to get her back. She's very sweet and doesn't deserve to be in the pound. Anyone with any advice or legal expertise, please help. Thanks.

  • Is my hen really a rooster?

I bought two leghorn "hens" at 2 days old. They are a year old now. One has a shorter comb and lays on the eggs constantly. The other has a longer comb and never seems to go into the hen house. I never hear any crowing but I can't help but think one is a rooster. Also, we don't seem to get as many eggs as we should with two hens. Everyone seems to think they are both hens. Can anyone help me figure this out?

  • How much should I sell my live rock for?

I am taking down my saltwater tank because the upkeep is time consuming and replacing the fish is expensive. I have found a good home for the few fish that remain. I am going to sell the live rock to a pet shop but do not know how much I should ask for them. Can someone who has firsthand experience give me an idea of what to ask for? Thanks.

  • How to peel boiled eggs?

I can never seem to peel boiled eggs without feeling like I want to throw them at a wall. What is the best temperature to peel them? When I do it, at any temp., the shell cracks into small pieces and clings to the egg. Any advice will be appreciated.

  • Need help making a snake habitat?

I have a ball python in a 75 gal aquarium. I am thinking of getting some branches and anchoring them in a cement base so he can climb. Should I buy wood from a store instead or can I treat the branches to prevent rotting? Or will untreated branches be ok? I don't want to buy a tree from a pet store...way too expensive, but I want something that will last and not hurt the snake. Advice would be very appreciated. Thanks.

  • Need help making pound cake!!!?

I am going to try for the fourth time to make a pound cake. In the past, I have used recipes that call for shortening. The problem is the cake's center never gets done and the cake ends up tasting like grease. I assume the shortening is for moistness. What other ingredient can I use to moisten the cake that won't mess up the flavor. I see recipes that use sour cream but I am afraid the cake will taste bitter. Any advice?? Thanks!!

  • Know a good recipe for cream cheese frosting?

I need a recipe for red velvet cake frosting that's not quite as sweet as the traditional recipe with 1 box powder sugar, stick of butter and 8 oz. cream cheese. I love this recipe but most people think it's too sweet. Not to be picky, but please no recipes with flour. I tried it once for choc. frosting and it was awwwfffulllll!!! Thanks in advance.
