I'm thinking about adopting a cat...but I have some questions.?
My roomate has an older male cat. He's very affectionate, but he doesn't keep his claws in when he is playing. (Or when he is "kneading" on someone's lap.) I don't know if it would be a good or a bad idea to adopt my own cat. Would a male or female be better? I'd like a kitten, but would that be a good idea with an older cat already in the home? The cat at home seems mellow and friendly, but would it be different with a new cat? Would his claw issue make it so the new cat would use its claws a lot too? Anyone have any advice?
14 AnswersCats1 decade agoLow carb substitute to pizza bagels?
I am entertaining tomorrow (9/5) after work. I prepared to do pizza bagels. I bought bagels with 32g carbs, shredded mozz, ricotta, pepperoni, ham, pineapple, and some veggies. (Pick your own toppings style) Found out that 32 is still too many carbs. I'll have about 1/2 hour after work tomorrow to prepare...or I can prepare tonight with tomorrow's 1/2 hour to reheat. Can anyone suggest something I can do with most of these ingredients? I can buy a few more...but I don't want to have to go overboard. HELP!
1 AnswerCooking & Recipes1 decade agoCould cell phone bills use less paper?
Are there people who do not read all of the calls/texts listed in their cell phone bills? Would it make sense for cell companies to send out just summaries? If people want to look at all of the calls, they can request the "full list". I would think that would save a lot of paper.
8 AnswersConservation1 decade agoHow big is the gap between your big toe and the second toe?
The other day, my grandfather pointed out that my gap is relatively large. (About 1/2 inch) We thought it might be something genetic, but I've checked both sides of my family to no avail. Most of my family has either no gap (The toes actually touch) or a small gap. (less than 1/4 inch) Anyone else have a gap?
5 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoWhere can I get corned beef and cabage in Providence?
In the spirit of St. Patrick's day, I am dying to have a corned beef and cabage dinner. I am by myself, so cooking a whole dinner seems silly. I've had a bad dining experience at RiRa, so I would rather not go there. Does anyone know of any place that I can get "take-out" or sit and eat by myself without looking like a loser? I am willing to drive out of the city, just as long as there is easy parking!
3 AnswersOther - US Dining Out1 decade agoDoes corn really sweat?
My parents recently moved to the midwest, and were told that it will get humid in the summer. They were told that this occurs because the corn will sweat. To me this sounds kindof strange. Does corn really sweat?
3 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoWhat is a good multi-purpose printer?
I need an occasional use printer. I have been through 3 Epson ink-jet printers, because the ink dries up and ruins the printer when it is not used frequently. I would like to print decent photos (doesn't need to be top of the notch, but better than a dot matrix) but I would also like to be able to print regular documents. (Stuff like online directions, recipes, etc.) Any suggestions that will not cost me a million dollars?
8 AnswersPrinters1 decade agoWhat is there to do in the Cedar Rapids, IA area?
My parents recently moved to Cedar Rapids. I will be visiting them during the week of Christmas. While they are at work during the days, I would rather not sit in the house watching TV. I am not a big shopping fanatic, and I don't have tons of money to throw around. Just looking for real-person suggestions of things to do.
