7 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoWhy do people confuse christianity with america?
a true christian does not believe in the death penalty.
a true christian does not believe in abortion.
a true christian told Bush not to do a pre-emptive strike on Iraq
a true christian told Bush it was not a just war
a true christian called for a cease fire at the U.N. between the people of the middle east
My local Bishop, wrote a very nice homily about immigration. How the people who come to America are our brothers and sisters. We need to love them and welcome them in. Not hate them and kick them out. They are not able to recieve the basics of life that they need in their country so they come here.
Having stated all these things, especially without noting that, almost all of these statements were made by a Pope along with many others.
In one of Bush's speeches he replaced the word Jesus with America, and used it to convince people to go to war.
Why do people confuse what America does with Christianity, just because they claim to be christians?
16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy do they call us hypocrites?
As a christian it is common knowledge, that we are sinners. Although we spend our life trying to perfect our imperfections by the grace of Jesus Christ. We will never be perfect like him until we are resting in him. Yet we do have our moments. Although, there are those of us who still suffer. Honestly, I have a problem with pornography. If you were to ask me about it though, I'd say it's terrible, it should be illegal, and especially more regulated on the internet. Some would call me a hypocrite, when in fact I'm standing up for my belief. Just because I fall into temptation doesn't mean I like it. We are called hypocrites for things of that nature.Yet were the things we rallying against, yet still suffer with, were more consciously eliminated by the public would we not have more time, energy, and money to be well spent on real problems?
I guess what I'm trying to say is, a christian who practices his faith, but slips up is only a human. He's trying.Who's the real hypocrite?
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoCOMPtia A+.....now what?
I'm about to take a class for the hardware portion of the A+ test. After having done so and passing the test I will be fully certified with A+.
Personally I thought about getting a MCSA later on down the road, although, I've noticed you need to know unix/linux for a lot of System Admin jobs. Which I have NO interest in learning. I'm a windows person.
My question is: once I get my A+, what do I do then? My friend says he can get me a job in help desk. Yet there's so many different definitions OF help desk(tier 1, 2, 3, etc.). No one can properly explain these things to me.

4 AnswersOther - Computers1 decade agoWhy does this always happen to me....?
So I met a girl. We both hung out at the same place and played pool/cards. I didn't pay that much attention to her, but I noticed her. Anyway, she asked to use my phone one day and took my number off it. Next thing I know she's calling me. Asking me out. She stood me up a few times, but all in all she just kept pursuing me and I wasn't doing anything. We got pretty close. She told me she liked me...I hesitated. Eventually I told her I liked her. Months went by. We had known each other for about 6 months, she starts saying she loves me. I'm hesitant. After a while, I started saying it back to her. We had a lot of intimate moments, although we never slept together. It's been about 3 months since I've even talked to her. What the fuuck happened? When I noticed a change in her I pulled back. I intentionally waited a few weeks to call her. I called her like twice in the last 3 months. Never got a phone call back. I'm pissed, I lost my friend.
10 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoIf gay people are born that way...?
Ok, so for a long time now gay people have been saying they were born that way. Although for a lot longer time people have been saying it's a perversion.
I've heard child molestors (NAMBLA) and such types of people talk about how they were also born that way. They can't help being attracted to young children. I've read confessions on the internet of people saying: they never understood why they couldn't find love. What was wrong with them. It was that they were born attracted to little children. So they now say that they can't help it they are born that way.
How long until adult-child sex is accepted?
20 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoOnce Saved Always Saved: Did you know?
Did you know that the idea of Once Saved Always Saved (OSAS: that once you've accepted Christ you are accepted no matter what) was not part of the faith until the 16th century? It was derived from Calvinists who also believed in predestination. Predestination is the idea of a predetermined faith. Thus elimination the whole purpose of free-will and repentance.
Don't believe you can do whatever you like simply because you've been "saved by Jesus". Because those who love him, keep his commandments. It is easy to profess with your tongue love of God, while lying in your heart. It is easy to see your neighbor struggling without clothes or food to eat and say, "God bless! Take Care!". Even the devils can do that. Faith without works is dead. So as a man/woman who professes faith in Jesus Christ yet continues to live in sin is not saved by any means.
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat makes one think Christians are brainwashed?
Honestly. I choose to follow God. I choose to go to church. I am an intelligent person. I wasn't always a christian. No one programmed me. This was a free choice. So why are we always thought of as naive and brainwashed? I think it is those who are against us that are naive and brainwashed.
37 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoSeperation of church and state...?
Are people so blind to actually believe that, simply because a politician runs under a certain moral issue, that he is just using that to win votes from religious?
Has Bush outlawed abortion? Has he lowered the crime rate? Has he NOT gone to war even though Pope John Paul II told him a pre-emptive strike was unethical?
This is not about Bush. This is about the idiocy that people believe politicians really care about religion and morals, they care about as much as they did about civil rights issues.
Let the madness begin....
19 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoVote: What is the purpose of free will?
A) Is free will the right/ability to do whatever we want according to our own chosen morality?
....or....
B) Is free will a mind, that although is not bound, is free from the compulsions/urges that sometimes keep us that way?
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoLadies, why is it...?
Why is it more appealing when I act absolutely uninterested in you then if I were to be straight forward (without projecting)? Is it just self-hatred, a total lack of self-esteem, or what?
Don't say age, because even with women in their 30's I get the same reaction.
