This is in responce to a question that I just answered the person asking the question thinks that you only get hope from God.

Do you feel that your God is the only reason that you have hope for anything in life?

Why do churches and evangelists ask for so much of it?

Oh, and to make this a religious questions....Do you believe in god?

What if mary was fooling around on her husband and got pregnant and came up with the immaculate conception so she wouldn't get caught?

How do we know that she was even telling the truth? Maybe she made it up, and her son was a little off his rocker.

I'm not saying that this is true...just a "what if"?

You know, when you're telling someone something and they don't believe you, do they make you say "I swear to god" to prove that you're telling the truth?

Do you do it?

If you do, do you feel a little guilty for doing it?

I was just visiting my family this past weekend and my sister asked me to swear to god to prove something, (then she realized what she asked me as my mom was laughing, and then just asked me to "promise") and that just got me thinking if anyone else who doesn't believe in god has ever been asked the same thing.

And why?

I know that some Christians (I said some, not all) believe that Atheists are evil, without morals, don't know right from wrong, are depressed...the list goes on and on.

My question to you is, why do you think these things? Is it because you know numerous Atheists that are these things that you believe of us, or is it just your misconception of something you don't understand? Or is it that you believe all these things of all people that don't believe in your god and Atheists are just the easiest to target?

I am wondering why Christians celebrate Christmas.

Why is that (some) christians ask a questions specifically towards atheists asking them why...whatever they want to know..and then pick some christian slamming atheists as the best answer. I mean why bother asking atheists if you don't even really care what their answer is?

Someone asked atheists why we believe the universe popped into existance from nothing........alot of atheists answered actually explaining their beliefs and the best answer went to a christian saying that atheists were heathens, wrong, unfaithful..yada yada yada. If you really don't care to know what we believe, and why...why bother asking us?

Someone has said that feelings disprove evolution.

Is it because YOU find them offensive? Are the offensive because they actually insult your religion, or is because it's just something other than what you believe.

How do you decide how to raise your children regarding religion?

I'm Atheist and my hubby is Catholic. He doesn't mind my beliefs, or lack of actually and he doesn't question me, and I don't question him.

He respects the fact that I will eat meat on Fridays if I want, and I respect the fact that he doesn't.

His only thing is that we get the kids baptized catholic. After that the religion thing is up to them. The confirmation and everything else will be up to the child.

Just wondering how everyone else makes it work.

I have a couple questions regarding the bible and how people use it.

First of all, all the Christian sects, such as Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist..so on and so forth...they all get their information from the same place, so how can their religions be so different.

How can Christians say that parts of the bible don't pertain to them and that certain parts are no longer valid, or only meant for jews.

How can Christians have so many different perceptions of the same bible?

I'm just confused as to why there are so many different christian answers to the same question.

You say that gay couple should not be able to adopt a child because the gay life style is perverted and wrong because it says so in the bible or wherever.

So would you would rather a child stay in an orphanage until they turn 18?

Or would you rather them stay in a situation with a man and woman (as you say it should be) while they are getting abused sexually and or physically.

Or how about have them stay with a couple of alcoholics or drug abusers.

I just really don't understand your thinking. As long as a gay couple is capable of loving that child and giving them a good upbringing why should it matter if they're gay?

There are plenty of straight couples who aren't even half as capable of being parents, but in your mind they're should have the child because their relationship is "natural".

trying to take over the schools by not allowing Christian beliefs in school? Isn't that kind of hypocritical since they're complaining that we're trying to take out their beliefs from the schools. I mean if we can't teach facts then why should we teach something that can't be proven?

I guess my question here is why is it okay for Christians to complain about Atheist trying to take religion out of school but it's okay for Christians to want to leave their beliefs in the school.
