  • A (long) question for people who have experience with ghosts?

Many of you know me as the guy who uses my 41 years of experience with my own psychic abilities to help those who have legitimate questions about psychic abilities. Though I have experienced many different psychic abilities, I (unlike the kid in the fictional movie "The Sixth Sense") have never been able to "see dead people" - until perhaps recently.

About three and a half months ago, I was in the leasing office where my townhouse is, using their wireless internet. My "instant knowledge" thing kicked in, and I strongly felt the need to look out the floor-to-ceiling window to my left. Since that ability is never wrong, I looked, only to find that there were two "ordinary" women walking toward the pool. Confused, I returned my attention to answering my emails when I felt the need to "look again". By this time, the women were at a position where one was behind the other to my viewing perspective. The one in the back was wearing typical clothes and looked ordinary, but that was when I realized "what was wrong". I was looking THROUGH the woman closest to me and seeing the woman behind her. These two women appeared to be engaged in conversation, occasionally making hand gestures, while walking past the pool, only one of them was transparent.

Since my background is in science and engineering, I quickly looked out the front and side windows to scan for other people walking by that could have cast a "false reflection" on the back window, but there was no one else around that could have cast a false reflection, so that meant that I actually had seen a "solid" person talking to a "transparent" one.

When I looked back toward the pool, both women were gone. Then, a few nights later, I was skyping with a contact and telling her about what had happened, when I heard a loud mournful cry that sounded like it came from just a few feet outside my bedroom window. Since my bedroom is on the 2nd floor and there is no balcony or staircase leading there, I temporarily excused myself from the call, looked out the window, saw no one, and then ran downstairs and went outside and searched for the source of the cry, but found nothing.

Granted, the cry could have been from somewhere other than right outside my 2nd floor window and just sounded near because of an echo, but I can't "explain away" the transparent person.

For those of you with experience with this sort of thing - what in your opinion was this transparent person? For any skeptics tempted to answer this, I will state in advance that I don't do drugs, had not been drinking, am mentally sound, and I don't just "jump to the conclusion" that everything is paranormal. I first defer to my experience in physics and engineering to attempt to explain things.

  • Question about tall skinny cedar trees -?

My parents still live in the house I grew up in, and in the front yard, on either side of the big living-room window they had two tall skinny cedar trees. The trees started out about 5 feet tall and by the time I left, they had grown almost as tall as the peak of the roof. These were big, sturdy trees, but about 4 years ago they both died.

My brother-in-law planted new ones in the same spot, but those two cedars died within the first year. They tried this two more times, only to find that the trees all died. There is a perfectly healthy hedge that covers the area under the window and in front of the trees. The neighbors on both sides of my parents both have cedar trees in their yards that are doing fine.

Can anyone tell me what may have killed the first two cedars? Also, why do new cedars planted in the same spot keep dying when the hedge and nearby grass are growing normally? Is it possible that whatever killed the first 2 trees somehow contaminated the soil in some way that is toxic only to cedar trees?
