  • Error message when trying to open Excel?

    I have had no problems until now. I've had the student version of Office since January 08. Today when I tried to open Excel I get one of two messages.

    Message #1:

    "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel."

    Message #2:

    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\EXCEL.EXE is not a valid Win32 application."

    Can anyone give me a clue as to what has happened & how to fix it?

  • Problem with doing a restore.?

    I did a restore on my Windows XP computer to a date from a couple of months earlier and didn't like the results. I tried to "undo" the restore, but it tells me it can't restore to that point (today) and to pick another date. I've picked several other dates in between and it still gives me the same message. Any suggestions?
