  • is comp time legal in california?

it it legal for employers to "pay" you with comp time for over time worked. For example, if you work 10 hours a day for 3 days, can your employer "pay" you with 6 hours time off?

  • The feed store says bulk pet food often has bugs in it? Do you really feed this to your pets? ?

I got a bag of specially made guinea pig food and when I got home, found it full of bugs. I called the store and they told me I could bring it back but that all their food probably had bugs in it and that it was normal.

  • I need suggestions for a nice thought

I'm visiting an old friend tomorrow and found out another old friend will be there, apparently it's his birthday and he's alone. I'd like to do something nice but not sure what. I'd appreciate suggestions. We're all in our 40/50's

    Thanks

  • Boars; Is it normal behavior?

I have 3 boars in one pen and the alpha still chases the little one around. Its been quite a while and he has bonded perfectly with the other one. The 2 new ones I got at the same time. Will he ever stop treating the little one like this, not letting him eat or rest or play without going up and running him off. I keep looking for bites but I don't see any.

  • how can i check my guinea pigs hearing

my little wilbur used to be the first one to wheek when it was eating time or when i came home with groceries, now he doesn't even seem to notice when the others are at the cage wheeking loudly. He recently had an altercation with the alpha so I separated him, could the fight (all wounds are on the butt) have hurt his hearing somehow?

I tried making a loud noise to see if he would hear, all the others stopped and looked at me and he just kept eating (could just be hungry)

    Any suggestions??

  • 4 unrelated boars?

I started with one, a baby, about 4 weeks, after a month, added another baby, about 4 weeks, again, did the same but added 2.

The older 2 were paired nicely but when I added the second 2 of course we had to start all over again.

I enlarged the cage each time and added hidey/cubbies etc for each pig as well as adding a second watering bottle and food dishes when I got the second 2.

So at this stage (it's been about a month since adding the last 2) My eldest (alpha) is caged in one large cage with the 2 little ones and my #2 is by himself. The alpha has bonded perfectly with one of the little guys and the other one he still chases around a lot but the little guy has shown that he would rather keep trying than be separated either by himself or with #2. I think they will all work out fine.

My question/concern is will I ever be able to add #2 back in the pack and if not, what's the best thing to do to keep him from being lonely.

  • teddy guinea pig fur?

I was viewing a rescue site that had a rex for adoption. They said, special grooming instructins for the rex will be provided at time of adoption. I have a teddy and I understand their fur is similar. I was wondering if I should be doing something special to his fur? My texel needs extra grooming but I don't do anything special to my shorthairs besides brushing.

  • How to keep produce fresh.?

I keep produce on hand to feed my guinea pigs. The best answer I found was to keep it wrapped in paper towels. This works better than the tupperware and fits more neatly in my (small) refrigerator drawer. However, after a day or so, the leaves get limp. Having four piggies can be very expensive when you can't keep the produce fresh. I usually buy enough to get them through about 2.5 - 3 days and then buy more.

Does anyone have a good idea for keeping produce (romaine, green leaf, red leaf, cilantro, parsley) fresh for at least 3 days.
