  • My cat scratched my foot and now my ankle hurts?

So this morning when I was getting up I accidentally stepped on one of my cats (she likes to sleep on the floor right next to the bed). She attacked my foot, and I tried to lift my foot twice but she was attached like crazy! She finally let go and I limped to the bathroom. I have minor scratches on my ankle and some on the bottom of my foot, and then one long, semi-deep scratch on the bottom of my foot. I washed my foot thoroughly with Hibicleanse and dried it then put on a bandage, then took 2 benadryl. I noticed after about half an hour or so that my ankle and leg on that side were really hurting, even up to my knee. The scratches on my ankle throb a little, but I have had deep ankle pain, all around my ankle. I can't figure out why my leg/ankle hurts so bad. I also have one eye that is freaking out, it's not itchy like normal but watery and swollen and starting to form gunk, but it's not very pink. I couldn't find these symptoms connected with cat scratches, so I was wondering if anyone knows what might be going on? My lymph nodes aren't swollen (at least not yet) and I don't have a fever, but I have had a headache all day that I assumed was just a migraine. Should I call my doctor tomorrow or just wait it out?

  • Help! My dog started eating my used pads and panty liners!?

I have a female black lab, a little over a year old. She has never been a problem when it comes to the trash, except getting out an occasional used kleenex (she likes to rip them up). We haven't had to worry about putting lids on our trash because she just stays out of it. Until recently anyway.

A friend of ours brought his 2 black labs over and they ran all over the house, including our bedroom and master bathroom, plus the regular bathroom. I didn't realize at the time they could get in the bedroom because my husband told me that he had closed the door. After my friend and his dogs left, I found used pads chewed up and strewn across the floor in the master bathroom and bedroom, and a few on the floor in the main bathroom.

Since then, my dog has been digging them out of the trash! She learned this behavior from them, obviously, which is really irritating. Is there anything I can do to get her to stop? I will be switching to garbage cans with lids, but I would like to know if I can get her to stop.

  • Interaction between 1 year old lab and 7 week old kittens?

My husband and I have a 1 year old female black lab and we recently got two 7 week old kittens. We kept them separated from the dog except for limited, supervised interaction. We are allowing the kittens to roam the house a bit more and our lab will occasionally push down on a kitten to sniff it or lick it. She isn't very rough with them but we still monitor her around them. Today I noticed her sniffing one of the kittens and then she placed her mouth on its head. I quickly called her away and put the kittens back in their room. The lab didn't appear to really be biting down, but it still startled me. Does anyone know what this behavior is or why my dog might have done that? I would like to trust her around the kittens but right now I'm just not sure.

  • I'm looking for an old children's book?

I loved the story of Epandamondas when I was a kid and I think that was the name of the book. Problem is that I can't find the book anywhere. I would love to have it again but there seems to be no info out there on this book (I've looked on eBay, Amazon, Wikipedia). Has anyone else heard of it and might know where I can get a copy?

  • What can cause diarrhea and excessive sweating?

I get overheated easily and can sweat at the drop of a hat. I try to keep hydrated as I've had heat exhaustion in the past. I've noticed in the past few years that whenever I exercise in the heat and get overheated and sweat nonstop I also get diarrhea. I don't understand this. This occurs with no dietary changes or medication changes. The last two weeks my husband and I have been moving to a new house, spending at least 2 hours a day packing and cleaning and moving in the heat, which makes me sweat and triggers the diarrhea. I thought about going to the doctor for this but I guess I'm not sure if it's something serious. Anyone have any idea what it might be?

  • How to handle a particularly annoying customer?

I work at an insurance office and every day around lunchtime (anywhere between 12 and 2 and we don't close for lunch) this older man comes in for a cup of coffee. He's not actually a customer, he just stops by on his daily walk. The problem is that I am the receptionist and he comes over with his coffee and leans on my desk to talk to me. When my boss is here he usually sits at her desk and they talk. He's very nice but very, very boring, plus he smells. The office is usually very slow so there's no excuse for me not to talk to him. I understand that he just wants someone to chat with and he enjoys reminiscing, but I hate it. I don't have the patience for him and I dread every afternoon because I know he'll be by. Is there anything I can do to become more patient or gently encourage him to move on? I am not the type of person to say anything out right like "I'm sorry I don't have time to chat, I have work to do" expecially since there isn't anything keeping me from talking to him.

  • Thinking of coloring my hair...?

This is my natural haircolor: http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s186/goreygirl1... but I am thinking I want to go darker, maybe something like http://photobucket.com/image/auburn%20hair/Rikk200... but maybe more red. Do you think this color would look good on me? I love the pale look with dark hair but I'm not sure if I can pull it off.

  • Help for an Ear Infection?

Okay so last Thursday I developed an ear infection in both ears and strep throat. I got in to see the doctor on Saturday and was given antibiotics for it. It is day 6 of my course of antibiotics and I am still under the weather. My throat still hurts a bit but is a lot better. My right ear has almost all cleared up but my left ear hasn't. I still have a lot of fluid and pressure in that ear that is causing quite a bit of pain and I can barely hear out of it. I have been taking Ibuprofen for the pain, which helps minimally. I am just curious if I should wait until my antibiotics are done before I call the doctor or if I should get seen again. I've never had an ear infection this bad so I'm kind of not sure what to do. Any advice would be great, although I have to say that I'm a bit hesitant to put anything in my ear (such as oil or peroxide) and I'm not into ear candling.

  • What to do with a cat that eats dental floss?

So my cat managed to get dental floss out of the trash and ate it before I could get it away from him. I haven't experienced this before and am just curious what I should do. Will the floss just pass through or should I take my cat to the vet?

  • What eyeshadow or eyeliner colors will make my eyes pop?

Okay so I have blueish gray eyes with golden flecks in them. I've tried using purples, greens, grays, browns, etc but nothing really makes my eyes stand out. I guess I could try blue, but I have an aversion to it, thanks to the '80s lol. I thought about mixing gray and gold together to make an eyeshadow, but then I didn't know if that would just look weird. Any suggestions? I like experimenting so I will probably try anything! lol

Oh and here's a link to a pic of my eye:

  • Weight Watchers...?

Okay so I was wondering if anyone on here has had any success with Weight Watchers. I've been on it for 3 weeks, strictly following the Flex plan, and I've not only lost any weight, I GAINED a pound! I have cut out almost all junk food entirely, and am eating all my fruits and veggies, getting my dairy in low-fat to no-fat forms and am eating only whole grains. I have no problem drinking the water, I generally exceed my water amount for the day. Plus I don't drink soda anymore. I am feeling very unmotivated to continue and was just wondering if anyone could give me some hope that it's worth it. At this point I don't really want to continue to pay for something that's not working.

  • Why do I feel horrible about myself when my husband goes to a strip club?

Okay, so I first off will say that my husband has only gone like twice since we've been together. But I have a history of being sexually abused and raped and suffer from low self-esteem as a result, although I am working on this. When my husband goes to these places, or talks about them, I feel horrible about myself. I feel the same way about porn, I won't watch it because I feel ashamed if I do. I should probably mention that I grew up in a very religious and conservative household and I am trying to overcome a lot of stuff from that. Most of the time my husband seems very sensitive to my issues, but at the same time he can get very frustrated with me. Last night he went to a strip club with some of his friends. I tried not to overreact, but it just triggered a lot of my issues. I don’t know what to do. My husband says that he doesn’t like going to them, yet he tells me that it’s just something guys do. How can I get over this? And how can I get my husband to see how much it really bothers me?

  • Pan's Labyrinth question...?

I have heard that Pan's Labyrinth has some violent scenes, but I was wondering if there were any rape or suggestive scenes of this kind. I really want to see the movie but I can't stand any kind of sexual violence in movies.
