What burden of proof does a landlord have to meet for proving a breech of contract?
The lease agreement states a guest will be charged $xxx if they stay xx days concurrently.
If the landlord has no evidence to prove this, but is simply under suspicion (and told by other tenants), would a judge rule with the landlord? or does the landlord need to provide proof?
Essentially, is hearsay that a guest was staying past the period in the contract fulfill the evidence to prove the breech of contract?
5 AnswersRenting & Real Estate6 years agoKingston V300 SSD or 850 Evo Pro?
I'm upgrading my macbook pro mid-2012 with an SSD. I'm only going with a 128GB drive.
I'm not a heavy user, just for school work and the occasional use of photoshop or illustrator.
I'm on the fence of spending $60 more on the samsung 850, but does the premium price difference, produce a noticeable difference in performance and regular use?
1 AnswerOther - Hardware7 years agoSSD or RAM upgrade for MacBook Pro?
Currently have a mid-2012 MacBook Pro 13" (4GB of ram) and want a speed upgrade.
I know an SSD would be the best option and probably will do that, yet I run many apps in the background and have many Chome tabs open, which RAM could help with.
I've heard about DRAM. Is it possible to allocate some of the SSD memory as a type of RAM to speed up multi-tasking?
I don't feel like spending $70 on a 8GB RAM upgrade and feel the prices will dip in the future.
2 AnswersOther - Computers7 years agoAre Noise Complaints Public Record?
Hi, I was wondering if someone called in a noise complaint over the phone to the police, can I access/ask the police later who called or what their phone number is? If the police have to fill out a report before/after they get the scene, wouldn't the caller's number be public record?
2 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police8 years agoAccutane and Alcohol?
I recently started taking Accutane and am leaving for Spain soon. As Spain has some great red wine I am eager to try some. I am not a heavy drinker nor do I binge drink often. I just enjoy a glass of wine or a beer every now and then.
Is it ok to have one glass of wine during my 2 week trip? Possibly 2? I know it may put more stress on my liver, but from what I'm reading, moderate drinking on acutane isn't necessarily bad.
1 AnswerSkin Conditions8 years agoHow do I analyze the housing market for the past decade or 2 (like by using a stock index?)?
Hi. I am starting to get interested in real estate and I wanted to analyze the housing market of the past. Where do I go to do that? Would you say that the Dow Jones average is a good overall index which shows how the housing market is doing?

4 AnswersGender Studies9 years agoWhat is the best way to grind whole bean coffee at home?
As most people know, being able to grind fresh whole bean coffee at home and then brewing it instantly is the way to go in order to get the best cup of coffee. I only want to spend $40 on a coffee grinder. I understand that this isn't going to get me the most professional grinder and I also know that it will not give me the most consistent grind (when comparing to one that's say, $100+)
I have been looking on Amazon and it seems to me that the Mr. Coffee Burr Grinder is the best out of the reviews. One thing I noticed though was that the hand grinders (non-electric) got the best reviews and feedback.
My question to you is this, will foregoing the luxury of an automatic grinder that's $40 and buying a $40 hand grinder make a big difference? Obviously I would rather go with electric, but will the grind consistency and quality be much better or only slightly better in a hand grinder?
I am not a coffee connoisseur nor can I tell the difference between a Starbucks coffee and one from Coffee Bean, so should I just go with the automatic grinder or are they really that bad?
3 AnswersNon-Alcoholic Drinks9 years agoApple Laptop Battery Question, Not Charging?
I have a White Apple Macbook which is not charging. When plugged in, the green light goes on, but does not turn orange. When I power up the laptop it says 0% and "Battery Not Charging". The moment I pull the power cord the computer turns off immediately.
I've tried rebooting, resetting the PRAM, and resetting the SMC all of which had no affect. I've taken out the battery multiple times. The battery only has about 390 charge cycles and I've seen people with a lot more than that. Is there a way to resurrect my battery without blowing $120 on a new one.
2 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks9 years agoDetailing a 2007 Camry?
I have a Toyota Camry XLE 2007 and wish to properly detail it. I am willing to take some time with it and make sure it's looking good afterwards. The paint is in fairly decent condition and there are very few scratches or dings on the paint (aside from the back which has a few scratches). It has been in sunny CA weather outside for a bout 5-6 years and has never been really detailed aside from the occasional home done wax.
It's seems as though the car has lost it's gloss and feels somewhat rough when touching it. So how does the detailing process work and what do I need to buy to detail it? I know that it goes 1) Wash 2) Clay barring 3) Polish and 4) Wax. Can you give me some tips and hints (especially what type of machine polisher I need; preferably under $80)
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs9 years agoWhat questions should I ask For Jury Elimination?
I am having a mock trial in my class and I am the defense attorney for OJ Simpson. Currently we are having a peremptory challenge (jury elimination) and I need to come up with some questions. What specific or general questions would help me eliminate jurors in respect to helping my theoretical client (OJ)? I am trying to create questions which would help me eliminate jury members who may want to convict my client.
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics9 years agoHigh School Cross Country Questions?
Hi. I've been wanting to play a sport for some time now and I would like to get into Cross Country. I understand that it takes a lot of time to get in shape because I practiced with the team this past year. I have a couple of questions to ask all of you runners and if you can number your answers that would be great.
1) The season starts up in about 5 months. I am pretty out of shape also. With the time frame in mind how do I start off and do you think I could run a good 5k at the beginning of the season? (I'm 6'2" and 160lb)
2) I am also concerned that if I begin to run a lot I'll lose muscle tone and look like a skeleton. What diets are good to maintain your body when running? Before runs, after runs and in between runs?
3) What are some tips you can give me about conditioning?
3 AnswersRunning9 years agoFilling up Coolant In Toyota?
I have a Toyota Camry XLE 2007 which has only about 15,000 miles on it. The person before me never really drove it, but now that I have been driving it I've checked under the hood. I found that the pink coolant in the overflow reservoir is very much below the "minimum" level mark. In what way should I refill it? Should I empty all of the current coolant and then put new stuff in (considering it's 5 years old, yet still has a nice pink color)? Or do I simply add coolant to the reservoir?

2 AnswersBeer, Wine & Spirits9 years agoLearning about the car and mechanics?
My friend and I want to learn how to fix cars, replace parts, and upgrade parts. We had an idea of buying an old junker that still worked and we would take it apart and put it back together. During the process, we would take notes and pictures as well as looking at online resources to help us out. I understand this would take I while, but could someone head me in the right direction? What tools or equipment would I need? Generally, our main goal is to learn how to fix car problems.
4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs9 years agoACT Time Management Help?
Hi. I am planning on taking the ACT test in June and recently took a practice one over the weekend and liked it. It seemed more straightforward than the SAT and less tricky. The one thing that I'm concerned on is my timing. It seemed like I was doing great throughout each section, but was always cut short for being to slow. As a consequence, I had to guess on the last 8-12 questions on each section. I was disappointed because I felt that if I was able to manage my time better that I would have gotten a better score. Do you have any tips on managing time better?
2 AnswersStandards & Testing9 years agoSAT Scoring Question?
I just got back a practice SAT from Princeton review and received the following:
Reading: 530
Math: 520
Writing: 550
Grammar: 48
Essay: 9
Does this mean I received a 1600 or do I add the additional "Grammar" and "Essay" to make a total 1657? Also, what schools do you think I would get into with this score and with a gpa of 4.2?
2 AnswersStandards & Testing9 years agoBuying and Managing Stocks?
Hi, I've been recently interested in stocks and investing. I just bought "The Intelligent Investor" and have been looking at a couple of charts over the past few weeks. I really like buffett's take on value investing and would like to value invest myself. I'm 17 and can't trade on my own so I was wondering which is the best route to take in regards to buying stocks: something like a custodial e-trade account or through my parent's bank. I highly doubt I will be touching these investments more than once a year because I don't want to take the growth investor approach.
2 AnswersInvesting9 years agoFixing computers for people?
Hi. My friend and I (both 17) want to start up a small business which provides fast, onsite, and inexpensive computer repair. We are very well versed in PC's, so much so we can take one apart and put it back together. We also know how to repair basic problems and troubleshoot. My question is, what are the most common problems people experience? I know data problems are the most prevalent, what equipment do we need?
