In the event of a double steal if one runner gets caught, does the other get credited with a steal?
I thought maybe the other runner would not be credited with a steal if the play results in an out.
3 AnswersBaseball7 years agoCan you help me remember a term from my International Relations class?
I'm certain it starts with an R. I can't remember it, it means unwritten rules or, unwritten etiquette in diplomacy. That's not the best definition but surely somebody knows what I'm talking about.

I get 30%
I'm filing in Texas if that's relevant.
2 AnswersUnited States8 years agoWho was it that said, "all military commanders try to replicate the Battle of Cannae"?
I can't find this quote, but I've heard it before... The quote may not be 100% verbatim as i cannot fully remember it. I THINK this was an American general who said it... Hopefully you know what I'm talking about and can fill in the blanks.

Or can they make up their time after the olympics?
7 AnswersRamadan9 years agoQuestion about Penn State sanctions (not whether they're right/wrong but about enforcement)?
If Penn St. can only offer 15 scholarships a year, does that mean they can't replace people who transfer? In other words, can they replace a current scholarship player who transfers without it counting against their 15 per year limit?

1 AnswerWrestling9 years agoWhat does it mean for a ship to "rake the deck" of another ship?
I'm watching a documentary on the naval battle between the USS Chesapeake and the HMS Shannon during the War of 1812. One of the historians said that the USS Chesapeake had the opportunity to "rake the deck" of the Shannon but for some reason did not do it. I'm not even sure I'm saying that right, but that's what it sounded like. What does it mean?
4 AnswersHistory9 years agoAre there rules that dictate how often players can practice in the NFL?
I keep hearing about how Curtis Painter for the Colts rarely ever practices. I just don't understand that, I mean, why wouldn't he? Unless, there are rules preventing him to do so.
3 AnswersFootball (American)10 years agoHow do you read the odds in football? I'll paste an example?
Ok, I'll use today's Alabama-Penn State game as an example:
Alabama 42o -103, 41.5o -110, 41.5o -110
Penn St. 10 -109, 10 -110, 10 -110
I got this from USA Today's website, so it's the odds from 3 different sources.
I gather that Penn State is a 10 point underdog I guess, but what does each number mean?
2 AnswersFootball (American)10 years agoWhat exactly is meant in Arabic when someone uses يا?
سلام يا طلاب In this phrase for example. Salaam ya tullab. Is this saying MY students? I don't understand it. I mean I figure MY students would be طلابي unless there are more ways to say it. This is the only thing I have come up with. An explanation on what "ya" means in Arabic would be great. If there are many meanings, what are the most commonly used?

4 AnswersBiology10 years agoIs it possible to steal 1st base?

4 AnswersBaseball10 years agoIf a pitcher strikes out a hitter, but the catcher drops the last pitch, is it a K?
If the catcher drops the last pitch but still throws him out at first, it is still a K isn't it? In this scenario, if the catcher fails to throw out the runner at first, I assume it is an error on the catcher, but does the pitcher still get credited with a K?
10 AnswersBaseball10 years agoHow do minor league affiliations work in MLB?
For example, I'm from Indiana and our triple A team, the Indianapolis Indians have been affiliated with the Expos/Nationals, the Reds, the Brewers, and the Pirates that I know of. Can MLB teams trade entire minor team affiliations amongst each other? Or, does the minor league team have their own say in who they are affiliated with? Like, can they negotiate their affiliation for themselves? I've always wondered how this worked.
4 AnswersBaseball10 years agoBaseball pitching stats question: see details...?
Scenario: starting pitcher is still in the game and the bases are loaded, a relief pitcher is brought in while the bases are still loaded, if the batting team scores, are the runs attributed to the relief pitcher or the starting pitcher if they reached base by hitting off of the starter but scored while the relief pitcher was in?
3 AnswersBaseball10 years agoWhat's wrong with my car?
It's an '03 Intrepid, while driving the whole car starts shaking... it doesn't necessarily persist, but it happens every couple of minutes or so, then stops, then starts shaking again, etc. When I had the oil changed recently, the mechanic said that a bolt near the oil filter had almost worked it's way out... not sure if that's related or not, but he seemed dumbfounded by it.
