What is the issue in Ezekiel 23?
verse 20:
"For she doted upon their paramours, whose flesh is as the flesh of asses, and whose issue is like the issue of horses."
What "issue" is regarding?
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat are the secrets of Deuteronomy 25?
verse 11:
"When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets:"
I don't understand.

9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoI am all for tolerance, but how did this "sons of God"-on-"daughters of men" sex in Genesis 6 work anyway?
I mean the whole materiality:body/spirit problem... to begin with.
Please do not violate the yahoo community guidelines and use this as an invitation to be obscene.
This is strictly a scientific/theological question.
Thank you.

Wouldn't that be like the Jurassic Park for believers?
I mean how cool is that? It is way cooler than dinosaurs!
And it would make money.

13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy did the smell of fresh BBQ make God change his mind so radically (and for no good reason) in Genesis 8:21?
"...and the LORD smelled a sweet savor; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake;"
but the reasons given for God's 180 degree turn and for cancelling the flood are quite contradictory:
" for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth"???!!!
(Genesis 8:21)
In other versions of the same myth (Gilgamesh for example), it makes more sense, as there are many gods. There are several of them, fighting for power; some of them are quite lazy and hungry, their decisions are, naturally, influenced by the smell of fresh BBQ. In short, they realize the lowly humans provide them with food and the flood is cancelled:
"The gods smelled the savor,
the gods smelled the sweet savor,
and collected like flies over a (sheep) sacrifice."
Gilgamesh XI,160-... etc.
In Genesis 8, why does God seem to argue with himself and contradict himself? And all because of... the "sweet aroma" of BBQ meat?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy is "don't boil a goat in its mother's milk" in the Ten Commandments?
Here we go again - a very different form of an earlier question, back by popular demand.
Please do not argue about what you may think the "real" Ten Commandments are, this has already been settled...
These ARE the ten commandments (the words of the covenant) that Moses wrote on the tablets and and you can check Exodus 34 for yourself and look for the words "עשרת הדברים Aseret ha-Dvarîm," if you wish:
|1. Thou shalt worship no other god...
|2. Thou shalt make thee no molten gods...
|3. The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep...
|4. All that openeth the matrix is mine...
|5. Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest...
|6. Thou shalt observe the feast of weeks...
|7. Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven...
|8. Neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left unto the morning.
|9. The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring...
|=>10. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk...|
Thank you

I know it's kinda gross, but speaking of weird priorities... It is part of the Ten Commandments. Please do not argue here about what you may think the "real" ten commandments are, this has already been settled...
