  • Who here believes GM is a joke with the Chevrolet Volt?

Really now guys, I can't believe these guys are still in business after all the bs we've been getting from them. They had two decades to make an electric car potentially viable for consumer use and they did, the EV1 which eventually got 120 miles on a charge and can go on highway speeds. Sure it was only a two-seater and it looked different, but if these guys actually advertised the hell out of it and let consumers own them them like they did on their other cars, then they could've been the leader in electric vehicles but instead they killed the program and the EV's themselves and now 5 years later they expect us to buy a car that isn't even 100% electric that can't go no more than 35 miles on a single charge with a price tag of 40k+? God, I can't believe these guys are still in business! They dropped the ball on the EV program, they offer crappy cars on a bigger price tag in general, and we were forced to bail them and Chrysler (the crappiest of the three car American car companies) out with our tax dollars after they demonstrated years of bad management and ****-quality cars not worth a damn buying to public keen on value. Ford is the only company that is good enough that I don't think they should be wiped off the face of the Earth. I hope GM along with Chysler go out of business eventually and let the next generation of American car companies to competent enough to potentially lead the U.S. in the automotive industries in the future like Tesla Motors, Coda, and/or Detroit Electric.

  • Do you think China is being singled out?

I know China isn't perfect but then so are all the other protesting countries especially the U.S. and Europe. I can name countless atrocities caused by these western countries to other countries and they are still causing problems towards other nations even til this day! Where is their protests and condemnation? Does it seem as if these people are protesting like they've never and currently ain't done anything wrong ever?

  • preserve or eco-dent toothbrush better for the environment?

Preserve makes toothbrushes made of recycled plastic and u can send the toothbrush back to them for recycling into benches and

Eco-dent makes toothbrushes where u replace the head of the toothbrush instead of the whole brush itself reducing plastic use.

Now im deciding which one to go with. what u think?

  • So would u do this even if you DON'T believe in global warming?

would you do anything that helps the environment as long as it at least free such as unplugging unused appliances, turning off lights when your not in the room, bring your own bag, use reusables instead of disposables, recycle, use E-billing instead of paper bills, etc.?

I ask because although I do kind of believe in global warming a little I am not too concerned about it and I will not go to jump to extremes such buying carbon credits in which i think is a scam.

I will however take time TO reduce consumption of resources that is readily available at no cost to me sort of like the No Impact Man guy

Tell me if you would reduce your impact.....

P.S. I would love to hear from Dr. Jello especially lol

  • public transportation free to stop pollution?

i watched the news today and arnold schwartzenegger plans for reducing global warming was to not for conservation but for improvement on development on electric vehicles. while its cool since i might consider buying one somewhere in the future he never mentioned conservation or reduction through means of public transportation. this one critic of his during the story suggested free public transportation instead of cars at least during the morning time only where most of the commuting occurs. this got me thinking and i thought it was a good idea it would cut down on pollution, get people off their cars, and they dont have to pay for the transportation in the process. who else believes this practice would be better if public transit would be made more efficient and free during commuting hours?

  • environmentally friendly packaging overlooked?

with more and more companies toting out products that are environmentally friendly or they claim that its so. consumers would buy organic and recycled products but even with that good will, most packaging that are used to package these products are either non-biodegradable/recyclable, overpackaged, or unneccesary. one example is i was at trader joes and one of the things i wanted to buy was some organic cantalopes, it was cool since its organic but what got me was that it was individually bagged in this nylon net which cant be recycled i was like wtf and decided not to get it in the end. so now im wondering when u go out and buy environmentally friendly products, do u look for the amount of packaging or what type of packaging is it to pass it as a sound product to buy?

  • No Impact Man making an impact?

okay I was browsing around the internet and i bumped into this one story about this one NYC guy who is living green, for real. he does it really extremely by living without electricity, buy locally grown foods, buy nothing with packaging, produce no waste except for compost. I was very intrigued by his experiment. its only about making no impact on the environment but its more than that. if this person can survive so far with this lack of technology and convenience then would it inspire you to do a little bit of the same thing?

  • cardboard boxes to bag groceries?

I'm just wondering what do u guys think of the idea of using boxes to stuff groceries in instead of paper or plastic bags. it would be more environmentally friendly seeing how instead of a grocery store wasting gas to ship plastic and paper bags over, a box would be readily available after emptying its contents and set it aside for customer use.

a cardboard box stores more things, sturdy, and is ideal for the back trunk of the your car. so what do u guys think?
