I have an iMac, it's about two years old. If I buy a USB 3.0 device, will it automatically work with my computer? Or does the internal USB port/card card need to be updated/replaced?

those little logos at the top of the page? what is the coding I need to put an image there? does it go in the header? I already sized down an image to 16px height, now what kind of code do I use and where do I use it?

from what I heard iodine crystals are very sublime - they will evaporate quickly, going straight from a solid to a gas. how do I keep them in solid form for when I need them?

-over the counter iodine

do I just mix them in a 1:1 ratio and the crystals form at the bottom of the solution? or how do I do it?

I have some digital 8 tapes that have been in storage for some time. I just now tried to import them using final cut pro, however, they kind of skip - like a cd. i dont know if this is due to time, or some of the cold temperatures they have been exposed to, or being moved around (physical shock) so often, or a combination of all of that. is there a way to repair the tapes at all? or should I consider it all lost?

I have a menu bar in there. RIGHT NOW I have the same menu bar posted on each web page. what I WANT to do is just put a link on each web page to one menu bar, like I would do with a css page.

In theory, it sounds simple, enough, I just haven't thought of how to google it yet, and I thought I would as here.

ALSO. I am working on this web site via an iMac. I glanced at the web site using a non-mac computer and the menu bar (among other things) didn't look right at all. Does it seem to be functioning correctly to you?

in photography what is the purpose of a lens hood? do I need one? I want quality pictures.

I want to buy a good photography camera and lenses and I am a beginner.

I want to buy the canon t1i. I thought about buying the camera in a kit that comes with a lens, but it looks like the retails value of the lens that comes with it is about $175. and from what i have heard, it is kind of a crappy lens and people generally upgrade quickly. I don't want to buy a crappy lens, no matter how inexpensive it is. I am wanting to spend around $1000 - $1200 for everything.

SO I was thinking about just buying the body and then buying THIS lens:

any thoughts? Is this a bad move, or possibly a good move. I want to check on prices on www.nextag.com to make sure I get the best deal on each product. Since I am a total beginner at all of this I want to make sure I am going to go in a right direction rather than making some major mistakes from the get go.

this is a weird question I know - but it is a real one.

my wife and I split up, over two years ago. we know none of the same people, and there is a lot to go into.

bottom line, she is not a us citizen, and has no social security number. I can get divorced, but I think she probably has gotten re-married already. I think she has a time table that she is trying to stick to.

I want to get married to my girlfriend (she is aware of the situation) but how do I find out if I am married or not? I don't want to spend the time and money on something that may already be done.

I want to take my dvd's and put them on my hard drive, so when I travel it makes it all that much more efficient just to have them there on my laptop.

I am using "Mac The Ripper" (It's a mac laptop), and I am about to go on a trip. Two problems have arose

1) the movie is chopped up ( it looks like by chapters) how do I get it all back to one full segment - a whole movie again?

2) how do I re-compress it so it doesn't take up so much room on my HDD?

I dont know how they work, is it just called a torrent site? I want to download movies. but I have a mac pro, but it has Parallels installed, but I would rather stick with mac-friendly sites.

any ideas? I'm a computer smart person and design web pages writing straight html and css. so I am pretty frustrated that I am ignorant when it comes to torrents.
