  • HELP! We're trying to sell. Water in the crawlspace.?

We have a house that we've been trying to sell for three years, and we finally have an offer. They did a home inspection today, and the one thing that came back was that there was water in the crawlspace of the house. There has been a LOT of rain lately, but clearly it's an issue. I'm trying to get ahead of this thing and take care of the problem--we will likely have to take care of it whether this person goes ahead and buys it or not. What's an effective, inexpensive way to handle the problem? If there isn't an effective, inexpensive way to handle the problem, what's an effective way to handle the problem?

Where do I find a good person to do the work?

As I said, we have had the house on the market for three years, and we finally have a buyer. We currently have the property as a rental.

Thanks, thanks, thanks in advance for your help!

  • Should we make the last house payment?

We have a house that we now have under contract to sell. Closing should be by the 15th of next month. We have a house payment due on the house on the 1st.

We're going to take a loss on the house, but we're happy just to have it off our hands. The question--is there any benefit to making or not making the house payment that is technically due on the 1st? We have through the 15th to make a payment and have it not be late, but I was thinking that there might not be benefit to making a payment when we will be paying off the entire loan within a couple of weeks. Most of the payment still goes to interest, a little to principal, and some into escrow for taxes and insurance.

    Any advice would be appreciated!

  • Help with maternity clothing...clueless here...?

So I'm six weeks pregnant, and I know it's too early to be "showing", but I'm bloated enough that my pants aren't fitting me well right now, and I'm a little uncomfortable. I know I'm nowhere close to buying maternity clothes, but I'm wondering what you do for the in-between time. Suggestions about the pieces of clothing that you wear/have worn all the time while pregnant? Where do you do your shopping? I've got three more weeks of teaching and then I'm on summer vacation, so I've only got to wear "professional" clothing for three more weeks. But seriously, none of my clothes are comfortable now. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

  • How do you get spray paint off a refrigerator?

So some kids broke into my house this weekend and spraypainted several walls in the house. They also spraypainted the refrigerator. We are hoping to salvage it by cleaning the spray paint off. (They didn't use appliance paint on it). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Insurance, of course, is not covering any of the damage.
