installing shelving on metal studs?
I want to put up some Rubbermaid track shelving. I've used it before and am very happy with it. However, I've only used it with wooden studs. Now I want to place it on a wall with metal studs. How do I do this? At the local hardware store, it was suggested that I just use sheet metal screws, but I'm not sure that sheet metal screws, spaced 11" apart, will be sufficient to hold the weight. I will be using these for book shelves with one track and brackets every 16 inches. I've read suggestions to use various types of anchors, but don't know much about them. I've considered using 1" thick wooden strips, fastening them to the studs through the drywall to the studs with a sheet metal screw about every 4-6", and then using wood screws to fasten the tracks to the wood. Can anyone give me suggestions to this problem?
5 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)1 decade agoIslam and pacifism?
Is it possible for a Muslim to be a total pacifist? I realize that Islam has a theory of just war similar to that accepted by most Christians. However, some Christians such as the Quakers and the Amish reject any use of violence. Since Muhammed led armies in battle, can a Muslim take this absolutist position?
I want serious answers from people who know what they're talking about, not snide and ignorant remarks about Islam.
