2005 Ford Freestyle SEL Transmission(CVT) or Throttle Body Issues?
Ok any advise is greatly appreciated......I was driving our 05 Freestyle yesterday going from yard sale to yard sale and everything was fine, It was approx. 80 degrees and everything as normal (driving conditions). Well, I stopped for a break at the local beach and when I returned to my freestyle to leave I put the car in reverse to back out and it went into gear kind of hard but I figured that was because I was parked on a very slight incline, then shifted into D and it was smooth. I was able to drive about 35 feet out of the parking lot before I lost all acceleration, even though I was still pressing on the gas. I was able to coast to the side of the road, before turning the car off I noticed the check engine and check transmission lights were both on. I turned the car off for a minute or so and restarted, restarted fine...went to shift into D and it was a "thump" which you could feel inside the car as well. Still no response from the gas pedal(throttle), switched into N and it was smooth, still no response from gas pedal, switched into R and the "thump" again with still no response from gas pedal. Turned car off, disconnected positive battery cable to try and reset system and checked the transmission fluid which was clean an at proper level. After waiting about 10 minutes I reconnected the battery and tried again..everything still the same. After having it towed home I tried again with no luck. Replaced Throttle body last year.
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs4 years agoWhere can I get commercial janitorial supplies online using net 30 terms or an open account and pay when my business loan comes in?
I am looking for an online supplier of commercial janitorial supplies that offers net terms (10, 20, 30 day terms) or an open account for billing besides the well known (Quill, Grander, Office Depot). I am trying to get everything together and in order before my business loan comes in the mail so that I am ready to get to work! Thanks for any information.
1 AnswerCredit5 years ago2005 Ford Freestyle front end vibration after CV axle replacement? Please help I am out of options!?
I have a 2005 Ford Freestyle SEL, front wheel drive, V6. When I took this vehicle in for a routine oil change the mechanic advised me that there were a few things needing replaced...tie rod ends, Left side CV axle and 1 tire (replaced 2 other tires 4 months ago). Went ahead and replaced all that was recommended. After leaving the garage there was a vibration in which seemed as it was coming from the Left side when I reached 27 MPH and then would go away when I reached 32 MPH, does not seem to come back at highway speeds. I took the vehicle back to the garage for the vibration issue, they test drove it and felt it as well. After sitting in the garage for 6 hours waiting for them to diagnose the issue they come back saying that the CV axle was out of balance and they had to order a new one. Well another day and another 5 hours sitting at the garage they finally test drive it again and the problem still exists with a brand new CV axle. Another tear down and another 3 hours and they come out saying that it is not the CV axle being out of balance it is a manufacturing issue and printed me out this information from alldata (TSB 06-11-4) (06/12/06) which does not even describe my issue! They sent me out with a new CV axle, new tie rod ends and a new tire with a car that is going to end up vibrating something loose! They said I needed to call a Ford dealer and have them fix it since in was a manufacting issue, Ford told me that this is a Technical Service Bulletin not a recall.

4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs9 years ago2 Questions: 1981 F-100 300/6..Please Read?
Alright..I have a few open questions here as I am new to the "automotive repair". Here a few I am looking for some assistance on...First, I just replaced my radiator and filled it with antifreeze, the next day I opened it while it was cool and could see about half full..didnt take much to fill it up..anyway.. I started the truck with the radiator cap off and once it started to heat up the antifreeze started pouring out of the radiator. Is this normal before the therm. would kick in? I turned the truck off at that point not knowing if the thermo. could be bad. Other question.... Does anyone have any experience with removing the oil pan from this 1981 Ford 300ci Inline6? If so any advise.(perferbally the easiest way) of performing this removal and installation would be great. The manual says I have to remove the radiator, fan, lift the motor (does that require disconnecting the tranny?), and then pulling the oil pan....Is all that really needed to pull the oil pan? Also, what is the best engine flush (added to crankcase) additive the is the most efficiant? Thanks for any advice...
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs9 years agoCan you clean valves/rockers/springs without removing them?
Ok here it goes....I am currently in the process of replacing my valve cover gasket on my 1981 Ford F-100 300/6. First off 2 of the bolts were not even tighted that were around the front of the cover, but after removing it, it was covered in oil sludge buildup (no metal flake) both the cover and the valves/rockers/springs. It appears that this gasket has never been replaced since the gasket was rubber and is now in pieces - even some stuck in the valve springs! Now I see where my oil leak was coming from!!! Is there a way to clean the top of the head and the valves/springs and rockers without removing them? Some type of spray or cleaner? Thanks for any advice or help that can be provided...This truck is new to me and am trying to get it in tip-top shape. Thanks again

1 AnswerLaptops & Notebooks9 years agoIs a builder responsible if the windows get scratched during contruction?
We just moved into our new home and realized as the sun was coming up this morning, our brand new windows are scrathed in multiple places, some even deep into the glass. Can I hold the builder responsible for this? I would like to have the window replaced or the scratches removed if possible. Will the builder pay for this? If so, how long do I have to do something about it, and how? Thanks for any information that can be provided.

1999 Chevy Malibu 2.4 L- Please Help!! I have been looking online all night and have found a few sites that had some minor information and others that want $$. I desperatly need help with this problem!! As we decided to go out last night (dark outside) we realized that we did not have and backlighting behind the speedometer and fuel gauge cluster, air controls or the rear lights of the car unless the brakes were applied. Everything else seems to be working fine such as the Radio, Milage, Speedometer........Its Just the Lighting!! I have got to have this fixed by tommorrow evening as this is our only transportation. Yes I have checked the Inst. Panel fuse and its good to go. This just happened all of a sudden, it was working on Tuesday night. Please any help would be greatly appreciated. Could it be a relay? I know its not the battery as I just recently purchased a Optima battery.
1 AnswerChevrolet1 decade ago99 Chevy Malibu Interior Display Lights?
Ok, we were driving down the road late last night and the interior dash lights (speedometer, fuel gauge, heater controls) all went off. The radio, service engine soon, and air bag lights all still work. First thing I thought it was, was the fuse. Well its not, the fuse is in good condition. Any other suggestions? At the same time of this happening the service engine soon light came on...Is there a way to erase this light or find out what the problem is? Also how can I get the other lights to come back on..Any suggestions? Thanks a ton
1 AnswerChevrolet1 decade ago1999 Chevy Malibu Front Brake Help?
Ok, we have a 1999 Chevy Malibu 2.4 L. I changed the brakes today (with some help) and the front right is making a squechling noise when the brakes are applied, even when sitting still. One thing I did notice while installing them is that one of the pads has a metal piece that sticks out (I assume this is the part that lets you know when your pads are low?) The other pad does not have it. Which side of the rotor should the pad with the (metal piece) be on? Inside or Outside, or does it matter? Before changing the pads we read the information in the manual, which states after changing the pads just pump the brakes and your good to go..Well we did that and still had to bleed them for them to work half-way properly. They still dont seem to "brake" completly, Even though they worked great before attempting to change them ...besides being worn. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
