How do i find out what is causing my baby's hives?
My 12 month old son has hives. I am not sure what causes it. They seem to come and go throughout the day. He seems worse when he wakes up from a nap in his crib but there hasn't been any changes to anything in his bed or any changes in soaps used to wash them. I changed his sheet just in case but it didnt make a difference.
I have recently changed him to an older baby formula, in the same parents choice (walmart brand) formula, that he has always had, but he has been on that for over a week and the hives just started yesterday.
Yesterday I gave him some finger foods that he never had before and I gave the cat a flea treatment. I didnt give him the finger foods today just in case, but hes still breaking out. I am fairly certain he didnt touch the cat though as the cat usually stays away from him. I also used a different brand of diapers, but the hives seem to be all over his body, and face, and not particularly in the diaper area though sometimes they are. Does anyone have any ideas? I cant tell if its exposure to the diapers or what since they seem to be coming and going constantly and im at a loss of how to figure it out. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, or any information on babys with hives that could be helpful id appreciate it.

2 AnswersSkin Conditions1 decade agoWhat over the counter allergy medications are safe to take during pregnancy?
Im about 2 months pregnant, I know the best idea is to ask my doctor but unfortunately I have to wait 2 more weeks till my first appointment and they dont offer any advice over the phone until they have seen me. I am having severe pollen allergies, which is normal for me this time of year. If any one knows what their doctors allowed them to take the first trimester, or is a doctor or nurse and knows whats safe I would really appreciate it, as I cant breathe and my eyes are watering so bad i can hardly see. Please don't bother to respond if you don't know or if all you have to say is "ask your doctor". Thanks.
6 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoreally long periods, hot flashes, and migraines...whats going on?
Ok, my last 3 periods have lasted 2 weeks, to 2 and a half weeks, back and forth between light and moderately heavy bleeding, I am not on birth control (all of it makes me sick) I have had children, but my youngest is 3 years old, so its been a while. my life is practically stress free. About the same time I started getting the rediculously long periods I also started having migraines on an almost daily basis, and hot flashes, My doctors have me on medication for bi-polar disorder, because i started having mood swings that were similar to that of bi polar people, but those problems started before the medication, and my doctor says that their is no reports of those side effects from my meds. I know I need to go to the doctor, but they want me to wait until I am not on my period to go in so they can do an exam, and its driving me crazy so, in the mean time, I am wondering if anyone could give me a clue as to what is going on with my body. Oh and btw I am 23.
7 AnswersWomen's Health1 decade agoShould it be legal for Hillary Clinton to be president?
She said herself when Bill was in office, "we are the president" Does anyone think that it shouldnt be allowed for a couple to be president/first lady and then turn around and become the opposite? To me it seems like electing the same president over. Im just wondering other peoples thoughts.
I am not asking personal opinions on hillary.
10 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoIs my 6 year old daughter hitting puberty? Is there something wrong?
She has always been ahead for her age, she's 4 ft 2 in, and she just turned 6 in May. She is pretty thin but right in the middle of a healthy weight for her hieght and age.
My reasons for thinking this is a possibility, she has hips, not a little bit of hips either, girls sizes end up tight at the hips and with a good size gap at the top, shes almost curvy. Her chest seems to be developing also she needs to wear little undershirts so that her nipples dont show through her shirt, theyve darkened a bit and theres the bump in thin shirts. She has also been VERY moody.
I know some things like that are genetic and I started puberty around 9. and with all the growth hormones and vitamins kids get now through better nutrition im wondering if this could be a more common thing, or if its reason to take her to a doctor.
Id really like it if some nurses or mother's with the same issue with their children could answer my question.
18 AnswersGrade-Schooler1 decade agoShould I allow my kids to have any contact with their child molesting grandfather?
I recently found out that he molested a close family member between the ages of 10 and 13. I think I shouldn't allow any contact at all for the sake of my daughter, and that i should just let her forget him until shes old enough to be told. (she is 6) By no contact I mean no phone calls, no pictures, no visits, no cards or presents. Some people have told me Im over-reacting. I'd like to see what you all think is appropriate in this situation.
