My Android phone was pickpocketed from me. What should I do?
We withdrew our phone service from it, but all my phone contacts and some apps with some personal information are on it. Does withdrawing phone service remove my phone contacts from the phone, or are they stored in the phone itself? Is there a way to wipe my phone? Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you!
2 AnswersCell Phones & Plans8 years agoWhy does my Android always show "Network Unavailable"?
I have an Android X and a Blackberry on a Verizon wireless account. My Android seems to be unable to connect to the network as often as it does connect, when checking email or internet. My Blackberry doesn't seem to have the same problem. Is this a typical Android problem or is it just my android going in the blink? If the latter, is it worth repairing?
5 AnswersCell Phones & Plans8 years agoCan a colorblind person become a good watercolor artist?
I have seriously failed colorvision tests as part of past physical exams for school and job, but now I want to learn to paint art pictures. Although I'm officially colorblind, I never realized it until then. Any thoughts on this or compensation tricks? Thank you!
2 AnswersPainting8 years agoWhy hasn't my "Best Answers" percent indicator changed?
I have received a good number of recent "Best Answer" selections to my answers, which changes my Answer/Best Answer ratio, but my "Best Answer" percent indicator seems not to have changed in almost a year. I'm wondering if my stats are being recorded accurately. Has anyone had a similar experience? I'm not a statistician, so is there a statistical - or other - reason why it might not have changed? The "Help" section of Answers seems not to have an answer. Thank you!
3 AnswersYahoo Answers9 years agoWhen did tipping at a restaurant become a "requirement"?
I recently read an article about waiters who were up in arms because a customer spent almost $150 for a meal. Instead of leaving a tip she wrote in the tip line: "single mom sorry...great service thanks". Her judgment in her spending was certainly questionable, if she couldn't afford a tip, but I'm trying to understand the current state of tipping in the first place.
I've been a waiter and looked forward to getting my cut of the tips at the end of the day, so I understand the waiters' need and upset. But from a customer's point of view, when did giving a "gratuity" become a requirement? Gratuity means something that is "freely" given. If giving a gratuity is now an informal requirement and cultural expectation, then why not just charge a service tax and be done with it?
What are you thoughts?
4 AnswersOther - Dining Out9 years agoWhy did Christopher Plummer dislike his role in the movie "The Sound of Music"?
According to Wikipedia, Plummer did not like playing the role of Captain Von Trapp and declined to attend a cast reunion, referring to the film as "'the sound of mucus".
Does anyone know why he didn't like the movie or his role?
Thanks!
1 AnswerMovies1 decade agoWhat sweetner is used in the sugar-free vanilla used in McDonald iced coffee?
I've developed a taste for McDonald's ice coffee with sugar-free vanilla sweetner. I know, "Yuck"! But if it's not made with sugar, then it's made with a chemical and some of them are associated with cancer.
If someone could tell me what sweetner is used, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!
2 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoWhy do thumbs up or thumbs down vanish?
I notice that happening on two of my answers. One moment one of my answers had 4 thumbs up, a while later there were only 2 thumbs up. On another question, I got 1 thumb up, a while later, it was back down to 0.
4 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoWhere can I buy good quality Horlick's milk tablets?
I loved their flavor as a child, but I recently tried them as an adult and the flavor was not as it used to be and it was a real disappointment. Is there a source where I can purchase the real and good stuff?

Online shops are good too.
3 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoDo you think you've wasted time answering a question...?
especially if you put some thought into it, if the asker doesn't choose the best answer? So many askers seem to abandon their questions which then go into "Voting". You don't even know if the asker bothered to read the responses.

on Farrah Fawcett or Ed McMahon? The "news" and Hollywood media are focusing almost exclusively Michael Jackson?
I love Michael Jackson as much as the next guy, but - come on! - this is Farrah and Ed!

4 AnswersAbuse and Spam1 decade agoWhat is required to build a house on a lot?
We're considering buying a lot and building a small summer/weekend house on it. We have never undertaken such a building project before. What do we have to do and to consider in order to get it built? If we got a home building contractor to build it for us, what should we look for in a contractor?
Thank you.
1 AnswerDo It Yourself (DIY)1 decade agoBuild a house on a lot or buy a comparable house?
We're considering purchasing a summer/weekend home. I've heard that it may actually be less expensive to buy a lot and to build a house on it, than it is to buy a comparable existing house. Is this true? If so, how is that so? (If we built, we'd need to go with a contractor.) Thank you.

I received 10 separate announcements from Y!/A that my one answer to one question was selected as the best answer. Has this ever happened to you?
(I doubt that I got 100 points out of this.)

We hear so often about American, European and Asian stock exchanges. Why are there no references (or so few references) to Latin American stock exchanges?
