  • How to clean suede boots? Bargain buy?

I'm about to buy a bargain pair of boots (superdry bushfire boots) like Ughs buyreviews say these last longer and are just as comfortable, they are suede on the outside and faux fleece inside. They are only £25 down from £100 because they need a bit of a clean up as they have a few marks on them just from use.

I'd never normally buy second hand boots but I tried them on and it's like walking on a cloud!

How do I clean? I know you can't put them jn the washer?

    Many thanks?

  • Poorly dog, vet can't help, trembling jaw and crying so much? Has anyone ever seen this before?

He's a 9 year old Lancashire Heeler (turned 9 on Tuesday), he's boisterous happy friendly and loves kids. He loves food too.. He's heavier than his breed should be but is only slightly overweight and has alot of excercise and walks everyday without fail. (hes had all his shots and boosters)

He started trembling under his chin on Monday, not salivating or anything just trembling his chin like his teeth were chattering. After that he deteriorated and my mum actually rang me to come over to say goodbye. I raced round there and it was awful. If its possible for a dog to scream humanly he was, no barking or wimpering just screaming. He would rush over for comfort but shy away when we tried to. We rushed him to the 24 hour vets and they just gave him painkillers and sedatives and said he's had a reaction to the painkiller he had earlier that day. He's been perking up since then, but now his chin has began to tremble again. He's walking around confused and doesnt know what he wants. The best the vet could do was do a test for Pancreatitus which came back negative. His heart lungs liver and kidneys are all ok, but he's not right, he's ill somewhere.

Please help, he's my best friend x

  • A steam mop I've bought has terrible reviews but I want to try it. Can I return it if its no good?

I bought a steam mop last year for £15 and its the best thing Ive ever bought. True bargain. I have a bad back and and also have wooden floors all the way downsatairs, it was easy as anything to do my floors just like vacuuming. I broke it last week and I contacted the store to track it down to buy another, but that model was discontinued. They had another for £30, their own brand, I bought that one but after opening the box I looked at the reviews and they were awful. Can I try the steam mop and if its no good send it back? Reviews say it leaves puddles everywhere but my last one was only £15 and it was fantastic.

My point is, if it is a bad product can I return it if I have used it and not found it satisfactory? (I have reciept and the box is undamaged and can be resold as new?)

  • Botched lumbar puncture agony please help? Painkillers not working?

I had a lumbar puncture on Friday to discover whether I had a bleed in my head following a very sudden explosive headache. The first doctor has done it hundreds of tines before and was experienced but after 6 times of the needle he couldn't find the spinal fluid and gave up. Another doctor tried a few hours later and it took him 6 or 7 attempts to find the fluid and get it. He said my spine had almost fused together after pregnancy and there was only 1mm of space to get the fluid. The whole thing took 3 hours! I'm in more pain than i can believe is possible right now, I'm on bedrest at home and have been given tramadol but it doesn't seem to even touch the pain 50-100mg dose as required with paracetamol.

It's nOt helping? I can't get to the doctors, is this dose strong enough for this kind of pain?

I'm in so much pain I can't walk can't shift position and it hurts like I've been winded if I take a deep breath. Please help

  • How to clean a Tommy Tipee bottle? Weird shape?

I have the same two bottles for my 1yr old, he wakes in the night once for milk or juice usually and this is the only bottle at the moment I can find that he can have in the night himself and doesnt leak. If he wakes I tuck him back in, give him his bottle and leave quietly.

But as he has a lacto problem, he's now on Lacto free milk, and this milk seems to curdle (not curdle but kind of goes thick) or stick to the bottle by the time I wake him - I dont know how to clean it!!!

I've used a bottle brush but it only goes so far as the bottle is a weird shape! I've used the dishwasher, and used boiled water to try and shift it but if I do this much longer it will warp the plastic.. I've thrown loads away and keep buying more but I need a chemical free way to fix it!!

Cant afford to keep buying one product again and again and they dont give you any tips to clean.. Apart from my weird mik ha ha pls help.xx

ps heres a pic of the bottle:

  • Problem with my peugeot 206? Electrical fault worrying me? Pls help!?

Ive had a peugeot 206 3door 02 reg two years. Its had two MOTS since Ive had it and its last one was only a month ago, it passed both times. Very reliable and basic.

Ive never had any problems with it apart from the exhaust pipe coming loose underneath and it needed to be fixed back properly. About 3 weeks ago the beeping noise sounded along with the word stop lit up on the dashboard, as it does when the door hasnt closed properly or the handbrake is left on, petrol low etc. This happens now when I put down the clutch to change gear, use my brakes or accelarate, reverse or change gear and some days it beeps constantly every 30 seconds or so and then it stops. I cant find a pattern to see what the problem may be. Some days/most days it doesnt happen at all.I thought it may be an electrical problem as I have a pram in the boot that sometimes touches the wires in the back window so I thoght it might be messing up the electrics. I dont know Im a girl!!

I cant afford to send it to a garage if its an easy problem to fix, but now its interfering with my indicators; ie if I slow and indicate that Im about to turn on a main road, if the stop sign beeps on the dash it stops the indicators working. So I'm worried now??

Ps its 47000 miles and I only travel short journeys, back and to to shops no motorways etc

Any advice guys? It would be much appreciated??

  • Conrad Murray Michael Jackson trial? My opinion so far?

Regardless of whether he is convicted of manslaughter, he will never work again. The prosecution are concentrating on him supplying and neglecting his care. He's in big trouble however it works out.. He was rich enough to be a drug addict but the tox screens prove he wasnt, he had enough money to get whatever he wanted but he requested a doctor instead of a drug dealer. He got both. I think Conrad Murray gave him what he wanted, got cocky as if "He's asleep I can slack off" and then, (proven) called one of his 4 mistresses and panicked when he found Michael not breathing. Anyone else agree??

  • My husbands hands are peeling away? Serious problem pls advise? x?

My husband is a self employed roofer, and for the past year his hands have been peeling away after the slightest dip in water. His skin is literally peeling away in layers and when it dries it goes hard and his hands are really rough. The doctor has given him some cream, didn't work, then steroid cream that didn't work, and now she has given him a week of strong steroid tablets which have had no effect. His skin is down to the painful part of his skin deep in his finger tips. He's clean, healthy, takes no medication at all, he eats well and has a physical job which keeps him in good shape. He's worried if it carries on he won't be able to work. It's definately not eczema, it's not itchy and he has to avoid getting his hands wrt. After his shower every day you can wipe your hand gently across his and the skin just falls off.

Pls help. I do have pictures but I have no idea how to add them to this post.

If anyone has any advice pls do let me know, pls don't suggest doctor again as he is going again next week and insisting on seeing a specialist but we are both really worried in the meantime. Ps he wears waterproof gloves at work x

  • My friend is going to hospital for cancer treatment, I need a gift that can be sterilized?

My friend is recovering from cancer/lymphoma but quite a rare strain that only 50 have worldwide and is going into Christies to have a stem cell transplant. He's completed his treatment and is having a month long session in isolation while he has the transplant but his immune system is going to be extremely low before and after. He cannot get any kind of infection, he's been told he can only have gifts that have been sterilized and can be sterilized again before giving to him as any germs can bring out a bad infection and when his immune system is so low its very dangerous. All close family members have to be scrubbed in and wearing masks etc because of germs but any gifts can be sterlized and given to him. He's going to be ill and bored and I want to show we care??

So no books, food, flowers etc. Any suggestions?

  • What is this insect? Looks like an ant/beetle in my house?

It's long about 4 cm long, dark coloured, it looks like it has 2 bodies and 2 tails at the bottom. Looks like a weird type of ant? I've seen a few in my kitchen?? Its not a cockroach or beetle, it doesn't have an oval or round body it tapers in like a wasp and then another part of it body that tapers again into two tails! Freaking me out!!

  • Any wildlife experts here? I really need some advice about rats and foxes??? Please please help!! Opinions pls?

If you wouldnt mind pls see my previous questions if you need more info but I really need help, if anyone has any info please do let me know! I'll try and sum it up clearly so Im not writing an essay! :)

1: I have gorgeous well tended garden, pond with a cover net, bins with bricks on top, no food whatsoever in the garden, very clean, trees ivy grass shrubs and lots of flowers herbs and plants in pots. Gorgeous!

    2. I have a family of hedgehogs that have lived here for years, we only bought this house last year specifically for the garden :) Also frogs toads and birds are regular visitors. Perfect.

    3. School being built on an old playing field that used to be a tip, and they are putting in pipes the field is close by. Also a building near here has had major problems with drains/sewers and is being pulled down.

    4. A HUGE rat was spotted in my garden in the middle of the day, next morning literally 200 rat droppings all over the back garden. Council RatMan came out and put poison down in sealed baitboxes that was 3 weeks ago. No luck, he's been here 3 times in the last week and put lots more down. I feel so dirty!

    5. Finally found where the rat was hiding, between a flagstone and the wall of our house near a hosepipe (not leaking) so RatMan stuffed the gap with poison and told me it would take 3-7 days for the rat to die (Icant risk traps because of the hedgehogs)

    6. No more rat droppings 4 or 5 days later ( only about 8 small ones, bright pink the same colour as the poison) but no sign of dead rat (smell or flies etc). I thought it may have gone somewhere else to die, but now I find BIGGER droppings all over the garden patio (it cant be cats as they poop in grass or dirt and bury it etc.

    7. Thought a cat may have been here hunting it so left it alone. Still no sign of rats YAAYYY!!! But I googled what the big droppings look like and it seems a fox has been here. Coal/tar looking poops and stink to high heaven! And then I saw what looks like blood near where the rat was burrowing and a couple of upturned heavy stones too. I could be wrong about the blood it could be rust but I cant tell as it has been raining heavily. So it seems the rat/rats have attracted a fox.

    8. Youd think by this post that I live in the countryside, I live in Manchester, in a populated area just houses in stockport, near the field (where the school is being built), near the building with the drain problems, and a large fishing pond just across the street and another grassy playing field right nearby. So its an ideal area really, we're not dirty or untidy - the RatMan said when I told him I felt dirty "what rat wouldnt want to live here its lovely!"

But RE about the fox, Is this good news, bad news? I know its good news on the rat front but what about when the rat is gone, or if there was more they are all dead, will the fox still come? The gates to the gardens are all about 5foot high, can foxes jump this? Im glad the foxes have solved my problem but foxes are a lot bigger than rats!!

    What do I do??

Any answers will be much appreciated. Im losing sleep over this. My garden has been off limits completely for 3 weeks as I have 2 small children and one is disabled. I need to know what to do!!!

    Many thanks.
