  • C Programming: possible combinations coding problem?

So I am completely stuck on how to get a program to show all the possible combinations of the problem I have been given using C Programming:

A robot can only take 1, 2, and 3 meter steps. You have been assigned a small portion of the algorithm that helps the robot determine how to get from point A to point B. Your portion is to write a function that determines all the ways the robot can walk n meters. Print the result to the command window similar to the example below.

For example: If the robot needs to walk 5 meters, the ways it could do this are

    #Steps 1m Steps 2m Steps 3m Steps

    5 5 0 0

    4 3 1 0

    3 2 0 1

    3 1 2 0

    2 0 1 1

Our intructor gave us a hint and said that we will want to use a nested for loop. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how I can go about getting the progam to show all the possible steps the robot can take? Any help is greatly appreciated! Th

  • Laying new Sod with water restrictions?

So my husband and I are finally able to lay down sod in our all dirt backyard this year, however we just learned that there will be water restrictions this summer and we will not be allowed to water our new sod everyday. For existing yards it is only two times a week, but for new lawns they will be granting a few extra days of watering. My question is this: Is there anything that we can do to help our sod retain water so that the roots will still grow and become established without being watered everyday? I don't want to loose almost $600 in sod because of water restrictions. I know we can just wait until next year and hope that there aren't restrictions then, but we have already waited long enough and I am sick of a dirt yard that we cannot enjoy.

We live in Colorado so our dirt is mostly clay based. Would putting down some good soil beforehand help? What kind? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

  • Projectile Motion....time in air and range?

    Here is the question:

An archer standing on a hiltop fires an arrow at a speed of 35.0 m/s and an angel of 40.0 degrees above the horizontal. He fires the arrow from a height of 55.0m above the ground below. Ignore wind resistance.

    a) How long is the arrow in the air?

    b) What is the arrows range?

Okay so I am confused on which equation to use to find the time in the air. At first I used 0=55.0+0-4.9t^2 and got 3.35s but I know that I can also find the time by solving Vy and then using t= (Vy-Uy)/Ay in which case I get 6.36s....which one is right and how do I find the range?

  • Physics Question! Projectile motion...time in air and distance?

Okay so here is my question I am stuck on:

After taking a run up, a diver jumps horizontally off an 8.00m tall cliff into the ocean. He reaches a speed of 7.50 m/s before jumping. Ignore wind resistance.

    a) For what time is the diver in the air before hitting the water?

    b) How far from the base of the cliff is he when he reaches the water?

Any help or equations to use on this will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

  • Physics? Throw a ball...maximum height? Time?

So here is the question: A ball is thrown vertically upwards at 26.0m/s from 1.80m above the ground and allowed to fall to the ground.

What is the maximum height of the ball?

For what time is the ball in the air before hitting the ground?

I am confused on how to go about this problem since the ball is being thrown from a height of 1.80m rather than just from the ground. Please help! Thank you for the help in advanced!

  • How can I get my cats to stop peeing on the carpet?

I have two cats, one is a male who is 6 and a female who is 5 and both are fixed. I have had a problem with them peeing on the carpet for the longest time. We moved into our newly built home almost two years ago and they have been peeing on the carpet since we moved in all along the base boards on the first floor. Their litter boxes are cleaned daily and I have been cleaning up their pee religiously with the enzyme cleaner Natures Miracle, but they continue to pee...They have both been checked and are in perfect health. My worry is that we are about to put new hardwood floors in and I am afraid that they are going to ruin that. Is there anything I can do to get them to stop peeing on the floors?

  • When is it too late to lay sod in Colorado?

We live in Colorado Springs are wanting to lay sod in our back yard after we close on our house here in 1-2 weeks. Someone said we should lay it down in the next 10 days or not bother doing it until next year otherwise it will die. The problem is we may not be able to get it down that fast and we really need it because we have dogs and an all dirt backyard really isn't ideal, especially when it rains. I really don't want to waste $300 on sod if it is just going to die, so I really want to know when it is Truly too late to lay it down. Also, what would you recommend as far as when it will be okay to let the dogs out on the new sod? Thanks

  • Where can I get a Purchase Agreement for a motorcycle test ride?

I live in the state of Missouri and I am getting ready to sell my bike. I wanted to print up a bill of sale or purchase agreement that potential buyers can sign if they want to test ride the bike. I will be asking for payment in hand when they test ride, but I also want an agreement that says if they break it they buy it and if after the test ride the bike is in the same condition as it left, they get their money back. Does anyone know where I can get one of these to print off? Thanks

  • How can I prevent my cats from peeing on new carpet?

We will be moving into our brand new home soon and were wondering if there was anything to put on our carpet to prevent the cats from peeing on it an ruining it. We have had a few problems before with our cats peeing on the carpet in the apartment we currently live in (no UTI's). Is there a product or anything that we can do to deter our 2 cats from peeing on the new carpet? We do plan on getting some more litter boxes for the new house so they have more places to go, but is there anything else we can do? Thanks!
