  • replace wood stove with fireplace?

    I'm moving into a house built in 1954. It has an existing wood-burning stove in the living room that is ugly as sin. It is vented above the unit with a stove pipe. Does anyone know of a ready-made unit which could replace item or will I have to go through the whole contractor thing?

  • Does anyone recognize this?

    I've recently acquired some cups & saucers. Only 7 of each, so I need to find another place setting of them

    I've written to a china replacement site, but I'm hoping someone here will recognize the pattern by my description: (sorry, I don't have a photo.

    The set is white, with a solid black handle on the cup. The image on both the cup & on the saucer is that of a rooster "roosting" in /on a nondescript tree/Another bird is flying above the tree.

    The only identifying mark on the bottom simply says "AUX AU PROVENCE"

    Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.
