in exodus 20:13

KJV:(13)Thou shalt not kill.

NIV:(13)You shall not murder.

murder = we could say its an illegal kill

kill = to deprive of life in any manner.

they change the word kill to murder. because governments needed army to fight wars, and they ofcourse needed to KILL enemies.

christians choose not to join the military because of this verse. and so the government specially request this verse to be changed from kill to murder.

about jeremiah.

NIV: verse3 For the customs of the peoples are worthless;

they cut a tree out of the forest,

and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel.

KJVverse3 with the axe.

NIV:verse3 with his chisel.

if it with chisel it makes sense that it might be just a carved idol.

but is it possible that someone,somewhere decides to change the word axe to chisel just to keep the vain custom of christmas tree?

we all know that niv have bunch of missing verse.
