  • Dying stripped and dyed(red) hair back dark...will this work?

I had my hair dyed black for 12 years, I would dye it myself using box dyes at home. I recently decided to go red and had to have the black stripped out first. It took the hairdressers 3 attempts to get the black out. So now I have had my hair coloured red 3 times in 2 months and the colour is no longer fading and is an even colour all over but...the condition is awful, splitting and fuzzy. I used to have soft, shiny hair. Also, my roots are coming through after a week of having it done.

Thinking of dying it myself a chocolate brown ( my original colour before the black or red). Would this be wise?

  • I have just sanded my floorboards, do I need to stain & varnish or just varnish to darken them?

I want to darken them slightly, they are pine and I'd like them to look antique pine in colour.

The few we have replaced look slightly lighter and also there is a stain on the hall floor that has darkened the wood in parts (looks almost like an oil stain). I'd like the finish to look as even as possible and hide these blemishes.

If I stain it this colour will I then need to put a clear varnish over it or should I just use a coloured varnish and not bother with a stain at all? Any reccommendations on what brand to buy would be appreciate too.

  • Could it be Chicken Pox?

My 3 year old daughter has about 10 scattered red spots/blotches on her torso. They have a little clear puss filled pimple in the centre of them. She isn't itching and seems well in herself.

My biggest concern is a small pea sized lump in the back of her neck about and inch or so in, and a couple of inches down from the bottom of her left ear. I'm hoping this is just a swollen gland due to the rash.

The lump seems too far down on her neck to be a gland, I always assumed the gland was just by the ear.

I am going to take her to the doctors but any suggestions would be appreciated in the meantime.

    Thanks

  • Pictochat on Nintendo DS......Is it safe?

    Hi,

I realised today that Pictochat was a feature on the DS where DS users within 65 metres can chat to each other. I was absolutely outraged that this was on a childs toy.

My 8 year old had been on one of her friends DS's at school (last day of term so could take a toy in) and said someone was sending nasty messages on it.

My daughter has a DS herself and I was so shocked that Pictochat was on it.

I am really worried now that predators can chat to kids using this.

There doesn't seem to be any concern about it when I've googled it but surely loads of adults & unsavory charecters have DS' and could prey on kids through this.

Am I the only parents with concers about this or do I have my information wrong?

  • Are you allowed to kill Grey Squirrels?

My kids love to watch a Grey Squirrel come into our garden each morning but this morning I was horrified when I opened the bedroom curtains. The neighbour had caught the squirrel in a cage in their garden and now it has gone once their gardener has been, he didn't carry it out with him so I'm assuming he has killed it! Feel horrible.....i could have gone and asked them if I could take it to a park and set it free...my kids loved to watch it climb our tree. Are you allowed to just kill them in the UK?

  • How does my partner gain parental responsibility of my child? uk?

I have been living with my partner for 5 years now. When we met, I had a 2 year old from a previous relationship. Her biological father had very little to do with her since she was born and refused to go on her birth certificate, he too has no parental responsibility for her.

During the 5 years my current partner and I have been together, we have gone on to have 2 more children and my eldest hasn't seen her real dad for 6 years (his choice).

It is a worry to me that my partner has no parental responsibility for my eldest and in the event of anything happening to me, he has no say in what happens to her.

I need to know how my partner can gain parental custody of my eldest child...if anyone can help I would really appreciate your advice.

    Thanks.

  • Pest phone calls....what to do about them?

My partner receives at least 2 calls a day from an asian call centre (Group Finance) who try to offer finance. They have been told we're not interested but they don't care. When my partner is not in they decide to abuse me on the phone and talk dirty to me, telling me what he would like to do to me sexually, if I put the phone down, he calls back. I have spoken to a manager..who barely spoke english and asked repeatedly for them to take us from their mailing list. Their number is witheld and I cannot find a company under this name when I google it to make a complaint about. I have 3 young daughters and I worry that they will talk sexually to them too if they answer the phone. What can I do about this?

  • Football Tickets........how do you get hold of them???

I want to take my boyfriend to see Liverpool for his birthday, I haven't the faintest idea about how to go about getting tickets, I've looked on line at their website and you need to have gone to so many home or away games this year. We haven't been to any.......Does this mean theres no chance of me getting tickets for a game?? Don't mind what match it is, home or away.

He also supports a team from his home town Scarborogh and doesn't get to go any more as he has moved to Liverpool, I can't even find a list of up-coming games for them on their website so if anyone knows how you get tickets for either I would be very grateful.
