I got a mixed breed dog from the pound. I have no idea what he's breed is, he's a little underweight, but roughly around 50lbs. He's been to the vet to be checked out and his shots and received a clean bill of health, but now off and on he isn't walking on his rear left leg. It is pretty obvious that at some point in his life he was beat, so I am thinking the injury came from that. We have an appointment with the vet in a couple of days, but I was wondering if anyone had any idea what it could be? Just an old injury that didn't heal right or something worse? I was also wondering if anyone knew how much it would cost? I want to do whatever I can to get him taken care of. He doesn't appear to be in any pain, but all the same I worry. Thanks in advance.

I rescued a couple of strays over the weekend. I am trying to find them good homes, but I can't tell what gender they are. I heard something like girls have their gentials more toward their stomach, but wasn't sure if this was true.
