  • Are student loans still funded if you end up dropping out?

My daughter started college in August and applied for student loans. She's pretty sure she's been dropped from her classes for non attendance. Will the loans still go through?

  • Why are US Army personnel burning Bibles?

One of the runners at the bottom of the screen on CNN a day or two ago reported that US Army soldiers are burning Bibles, I think in Afghanistan. Why would they do that? And whose Bibles are they burning? Their own, or the Afghan civilians?

  • So, how would somebody get a benefit from the bank bailout?

This question is probably already in here somewhere, but I missed it. How does a person go about getting the benefit from this bank bailout thing when the bank refuses to talk about it? Attorneys don't know, and the banks aren't talking. So now what?

  • Muslims, can you help me understand something?

I've read a few messages in YA, and I hesitate to make generalizations, but I get the idea that people of your faith dislike dogs intensely. Is that true? And, can you tell me why? I've always loved animals, dogs almost especially. They are such smart, loyal companians, and so entertaining. I can understand not liking a particular breed because of certain characteristics, like pit bulls are supposed to be so agressive (some are, some aren't), and some people just don't care for the little ankle biter types, but disliking all dogs - just because they're dogs - seems overboard to me.

  • 9/11 was named Patriot's Day shortly after the attacks occurred...?

I hope I'm not offending anybody - that is not my intention. I honestly do not understand why 9/11 is called Patriot's Day. Most of the people who died that day were at work, and except for the people at the Pentagon, the jobs didn't have much to do with patriotic activity. They were mostly civilians who went to work because they had families to take care of, bills to pay, etc. Some of the people were probably patriotic, but people from other countries died here that day, too. Does the title Patriot's Day seem a little misleading to anybody else? I've heard 9/11 compared to Pearl Harbor Day, D-Day, Veteran's Day and Memorial Day, but 9/11 was an attack on - mostly - civilians. I don't have any idea what else to call 9/11, but Patriot's Day just doesn't seem to fit. Again, I hope nobody is insulted by this question.

  • Witnesses of Jehovah, can you help me on the matter of the sabbath?

I think the Seventh Day Adventists follow this commandment, but I don't understand some of their other beliefs. I have studied with Witnesses, and I understand most of it, but why is the sabbath not kept? The Bible doesn't say anything about it being OK not to keep it, or to change it to Sunday.
