  • What happens if I'm arrested and can't afford bail and I'm a full time college student?

I'm a 22yr old, female College student at a community college in Colorado, US. I'm a biochemistry major.

I've been on probation for 2 years and 4 months for a domestic violence charge that happened on new years a couple years ago. Two months ago I was scheduled for a court date because I had failed to complete my community service on time (I moved from denver to ft collins and there were complications and I was hoping to get an extension)...

However, I missed my court date because I had the date marked down wrong in my calendar and now there's a warrant out for my arrest!!! When I was arrested originally with the DV, bond was $400. If bond is $400 or more this time, there is NO WAY I will be able to pay, I just had to quit my job because school and homework became too demanding so I'm almost completely broke and my parents are in a terrible financial situation as well. I wouldn't be able to afford an attourney.

Is there any way I can "stay off the radar" until the end of the semester and then turn myself in during summer break and go serve my time then?

What should I do? If I am arrested now, I'll miss class and fail. School is extremely important to me, and I messed up big time by missing the court date.....can anyone give me advice on what I should do in this situation?
