  • Halloween Costume Help!?

Wanting to dress as a squanderer, swindler, shyster this Halloween. Seems like this type of character would be fairly easy to pull off, right? Want to scare the bejeepers out of the tricker treater's this year. Need this costume to be truly convincing. Planning on passing out Three Musketeer bar's as treats. What would be a truly scarey trick to pass out? Perhaps some non-existant develpment plans and a business card offering to draft their elderly relatives wills? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Happy Halloween Everyone!

  • Do I have a reason for a lawsuit?

Lawyer told us we had to pay an event witness $250.00 to testify in court and that we had to bring the money order to court the day of trial. The witness had supposedly sent him letters stating that she was angry about testifying and wanted to be paid. She also told him to never give out her email address to anyone at anytime. He mailed me the letters from her with her email address on them because I think they were trying to get us to contact this witness. After a court break he pushed the money order over to me and told me to step out in the hall and give it to this witness after she testified. I immediately began to panic because it didn't feel right and nervously folded the money order up and put it in my pocket. She would not testify and said that she would need the hospital records to remember. It had been three years since she gave her deposition and my lawyer should have gotten the medical records for trial. After she would not testify he immediately called me to the stand and that is when I really began to panic because he told me I was supposed to give the money order to this witness after she testified. I asked for a break and went into the hall and did not give her the money order because it felt like they were trying to set me up by giving her some type of bribe. We gave the money order to our lawyer after court so he could give it to this witness. We have recently found out that he made out the money order and deposited it in one of his family members trust fund. This was a money order that he said was suppposed to be paid to an angry witness. Also the amount of the money order was not applied to our account. Do we have any type of law suit against this lawyer?

  • Is this legal in Michigan court system?

Probate judge removed personal representative who was paying taxes, insurance and any other estate costs. He then replaced him with a court appointed personal representative (lawyer) who is not paying the property taxes the home owners insurance and the money is in the deceased ones account. He is causing home owners insurance to be canceled today and interest on property taxes because he is not doing his job. Are the court systems allowed to get away with this? Also we have no lawyer because he quit after trial. Thanking you in advance for any help.

  • Some legal help please.?

I read in the professional rules of conduct that lawyers cannot use their law practise letterhead for other purposes. Would this fall into that category? Can lawyer use letterhead to his neighbors re: real estate issues. Letters on his legal letterhead were in regards to how much money they would have to invest, how much he was going to get for them per acre, and that his office would be charging a percentage rate. Thank you for any help.

  • Legal help to file petition for legal fees paid in MI.?

Can someone help me with filing petition to get back legal fees from an estate. My brother and I have paid tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees. After the trial we questioned our lawyer about not submitting our evidence or calling our witnesses. He got mad and asked the judge to be released as our lawyer saying that there was a breakdown in communications. Now we are broke and without a lawyer. The lawyers have filed their petitions asking for fees and they were granted. How can we file petition or whatever forms that are necessary to get the money back that we have spent. (lawyers are getting paid from estate) The opposing side paid $170.00 towards their entire legal costs during the case. Thanking in advance for any help and or information that will help us.

  • Shouldn't lawyers have to give clients a copy of:?

Professional Rules of Conduct so that clients know what their rights are and how their lawyer is supposed to represent them? People if you hire a lawyer make sure you keep track of every phone call every letter they send to you and any court records you have. Please if you have a feeling that you were misrepresented get a copy of the professional rules of conduct (read them) and try to make the lawyer accountable for whatever wrongs they did during the handling of your case. There has to be some type of law for lawyers.

  • Is a lawyer allowed to use a letter against someone?

Can lawyer use a letter against someone saying that they threatened someone even if that lawyer had received a letter from the persons lawyer who supposedly threatened someone stating that his client in no way meant the letter as any kind of threat? Lawyer stated that this man threatened someone in court submissions after he had received letter stating that it was meant as no threat? The letter was used against client at trial. Mans own lawyer used the letter against his own client during trial.

  • Would this be considered libel?

If lawer wrote this about you would you be able to do something legally?Lawyer wrote that I effectively, through false allegations and financial seduction, "took in" and raised my sisters teenage daughter. That I had wealth to fuel this litigation. I raised my sisters teeenage daughter who I turned against her mother with lies and money. That I complicated this case by my "inconsistent statemants" which will become evident during mediation. He also wrote that I abandoned my mother. (I was the one who got my mother everywhere, and my sister threw her daughter out when she was 15, also I am unemployed and my husband is an hourly paid employee far from having wealth) He wrote that my brother was the 4th musketeer. Do people have any type of recourse in a case like this?
