How will this work if it has to happen?
I won't go into details but someone I know is a recovering alcoholic. He has been clean for a little over a year and now he might need surgery for his knee. Is there anything that can be done to help him NOT go back to drinking as I was told that the medications affect the adiction center of the brain

5 AnswersParenting6 years agoI heard a lot of pregnant people say they want a girl second so she could have a big brother to protect her?
Why is there an expectation of a big brother protecting a little sister. What if he's unable to protect her or she's stronger than him. Why can't a big sister protect her little brother or a little brother protect his big sister

2 AnswersPregnancy6 years agoWhat is so good about ok or fine?
There are parents who say "I was spanked (or given time out or bottle fed or cloth diapeared or cry it out or attachment parented or given affection as a reward etc) and I am fine/okay. Great but why would u want to base your parenting choices on something simply ok or fine
Don't misunderstand. I'm not saying the method is wrong or right. I just want to know why fine or okay is the measuring stick
4 AnswersParenting6 years agoquestion for parents?

3 AnswersParenting6 years agowhy do parents often want to do what is easier?
Take discipline for example. If 2 year old Mari is upset and throwing a fit why not hold her and try to calm her down instead of sending her to time out. Maybe it is easier since you don't want to hear her yelling but wouldn't you gain more from taking 5 minutes to calm her down. Or say 5 Emma wants a treat that she hadn't earned. Isn't it sometimes okay to give her something just because? It may be easier to stick to the plan but Is it always necessary
2 AnswersToddler & Preschooler6 years agoquestion for parents who believe in spanking?
I personally don't but here's my question
What would you do for discipline if you gave birth to a child who is either hypersensitive to the touch or bruises easily from even a tap or has brittle bone syndrome
