I'm even more handsome in person.

  • Could we all just agree not to make up any more apocalypse predictions?

We are zero for several thousand at this point and there's no sense in beating a dead horse, as it were. Let's just make the world a better place instead of crossing our fingers and hoping it will all fix itself via explosive decompression.

Something about a boy crying wolf, yeah?

  • How many gods does it take to screw in a light bulb?

Seriously though, I don't have a punch line because the light bulb is just sitting on the floor. You'd think Poseidon would have come and changed it by now, I've sacrificed like three goats already.

  • Spiritually speaking, Chihuahuas?

Dear creationists. Where do Chihuahuas come from? Without the help of artificial selection, a type of evolution in which mates are selected by humans, how did the Chihuahua come to be? Did Chihuahuas walk amongst the dinosaurs? Did they hunt in packs to take down wooly mammoths? Did they compete with wolves, poodles, corgis, and golden retrievers for some prehistoric kibble before the dawn of man? Did god really create the Chihuahua or did they evolve with the helping hand of humanity?

  • Spritually speaking, have a lovely evening.?

Let us discuss religion like men and women. No more low blows and name calling. There are no need for trolls. Argue with integrity and civility, for if you wish to be treated with respect, you must be respectful.

Now to fulfill the question portion of this: What is the most selfless thing you've ever done? And did religious beliefs have anything to do with your selfless act?

  • Bible verses and vegetarianism?

And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat. -- Leviticus 26:29

And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters. -- Deuteronomy 28:53

And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and they shall eat every one the flesh of his friend. -- Jeremiah 19:9

My stomach doesn't agree with meat very well. As a vegetarian, do they make tofu children? I know the second one said something about fruit, but I think that was metaphorically speaking.

  • Where can I find some eagles and ravens?

The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it. -- Proverbs 30:17

The kids next door were mockething their father. Are their any pet stores that sell eagles and ravens? Or do I have to catch them myself. I ask because there are no nearby valleys.

  • When you find a rock on a beach?

When you find a rock on a beach you may say to yourself "this rock is entirely none complex in nature. It must have no creator. This rock must have always been here in this universe of ours so we must conclude that there is no great designer for rocks."

So my question to you is this, what color is the rock?

  • Understanding The Burden of Proof?

For those of you who might disregard the burden of proof, "God doesn't exist". Please prove me wrong. Thank you.

And for those of you that understand burden of proof. Please make an actual case for god. Oh, there is no evidence, cool. Thank you.

Now that I have proven god's lack of existence by showing that one, there is no proof for god, and two, there is no evidence that he doesn't not exist, we can all be friends.

Now to adhere to the community guide lines. Here is a question.

My question to all of my new found friends that through the grace of logic and science are now atheists. What is your favorite color?

  • My yappy dog is once again yapping at nothing, would your god be upset if I kicked it?

This little annoying dog, has been alive for several years past her prime, she barks at everything, bites, and refuses to die. She's older than sin and as sprightly as ever. She is the model of zest and quite frankly could give dogs half her age and twice her size a run for their money (kibble?). Her favorite pass times are barking at the very full water bowl and peeing everywhere. I am fed up with this immortal rambunctious troll of a dog.

In spite of my strong desires, no, I won't actually kick the dog. But in the name of your god I want to.

  • Why should I worship a god?

Even if there were conclusive evidence for a god, why would I worship it? I believe in democracy and freedom. This notion of a god that we must worship is at its very base goes against the principles of everything we stand for. Men and women, gay or straight, should have equal rights. I don't care what shade of color your skin is, you should have a voice that isn't dwarfed and condemned by a tyrannical god.

The Judeo-Christian god, and the god of Islam, if the stories are true, is responsible for every travesty and plague, every disaster and every accident, every crusade and every genocide that has ever taken place. This god committed every crime and every terrorist act and you think that I should bow down and worship him?

Why would I ever want to worship the most evil tyrant that has ever existed? Or rather, doesn't exist.

You think god would give us gills on a planet that is covered almost entirely in water.

  • Are there different sects of Islam?

Christianity is full of sects that largely disagree with one another, is Islam divided similarly?

    8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years ago
  • Which sect of Christianity is the most true?

Please, if you would, identify what sect you belong to and explain why it is superior to all of the others out there.

I have learned quite a bit about Christianity as a whole (not nearly everything of course), but I would like to know more about the individual sects and what makes each of them unique.

This is purely informative so attempted conversions are not recommended.

  • Spiritually speaking. Who are these people that thumbs everything down?

If I might exaggerate when I say everything... I can't give an honest and educated answer in the R&S section without getting a slew of upset theists thumbing down answers simply because I believe that gravity and evolution are viable theories to explain the diversity of life and also why we... you know, stick to the ground and don't fall up.

So to all of you Debby downers out there, why all the negativity? Is my belief, that key to living a healthy understanding of life is to learn about it through the means of the scientific process, offending you in some way?

  • Dear creationists, please explain Chihuahuas?

According to creationism and/or intelligent design, animals have not, in any way, changed since the dawn of life itself. How is it that the dog breed known as Chihuahuas have come into existence without the use of selective breeding, also known as artificial selection? Artificial selection, a form of evolution, goes against the hypothesis of intelligent design.

Did Chihuahuas roam around the primordial plains with the dinosaurs, competing with every other breed of dog to take down large game for thousands of years? Or did Chihuahuas come to be, through the domestication and breeding of wolves (evolution)?

Thank you all in advance for your civilized, well though out answers and your time.
