My wife was driving home the other day and the car suddenly lost all power and she was stuck on the side of the road. Electrically the fans, radio, windows all still worked. There were no check engine lights on in the car before and we have never had any problems. The car only has about 54,000 miles on it. I tried to start the car again and there was absolutely no noise at all when I turned the key. I'm guessing it's the computer because there is no other logical explanation. I was checking to see if someone in the yahoo community has ever had this happen. Either way the car is at the mechanic and will find out soon enough.

Well, I really don't think this one will be answered but I'll give it a shot. I have a Brother MFC-9840. It recently stopped printing the color cyan. I assumed it must be the toner cartridge so I switched it with our other brother that was not having problems. Unfortunately the printer continued not printing cyan... So I decided to swap the drums out of the two units, the problem still occurred in the same printer.

Step 3- Called brother. I spoke to the tech support at brother and they seemed dead set that it was the cartridge. I told them what I already did and they just said we will send out a new cartridge... I'm not going to decline a free cartridge but I know it won't fix the problem. I also swapped the transfer belt to see if that was the issue and nothing changed. I noticed lots of blue toner inside of the printer and can only assume that the mechanism that releases the toner is malfunctioning.

Help me yahoo answers you are my only hope... Until I have to spend 50 $ to have it diagnosed.

I'm sick of my Iphone running slow on OS4, I remember on OS3 it actually worked like it should. Looking online there are jailbreaks for both OS3 and OS4. Will it still lag if I jailbreak it on OS4? Would I be better off reverting back to OS3 and then Jailbreaking the iphone?

The air gap that is used for the dishwasher drainage is working fine. However, when the sink is cleaned sometimes the water seeps down because the air gap is not properly sealed. I was thinking about just caulking around the air gap, however I thought I might as well do it the right way. I'm guessing that I will have to buy a new gasket? Or can I get away with just caulking around it?

I'm in the process of buying a house. The sale should close by mid january 2010. My broker says that as long as I don't file my taxes before escrow closes I can still get the 8000 Dollars on my tax return for 2009. Is this correct?

I drink occasionally and never was a smoker. I have never blacked out from drinking too much until I decided to take a couple drags of a friends Black and mild "a type of cheap cigar". I passed out for 15 minutes and apparently I was awake the rest of the time. However, I have no memory whatsoever of being awake for the rest of the night. My friends said I was talking normally but I don't remember it at all. These black outs have only occurred when I smoked a tobacco product, I actually tested it to see the other day. I was just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience? I think it's probably because I am not a smoker.

I am a working student and I recieved about 6000 dollars for a car accident that I got into. I go to school so my income is pretty low. If I only made about 14000 last year are they still going to tax the heck out of the 6000?

Why do other countries feel threatened by a U.S. missile defense system? If no ones planning to launch anything then what is the big deal?

I just never understood it, will someone explain?

My knee gave out while I was playing basketball when I was 16. It healed slowly over the years, but never quite bent the same again. However, a few days ago I had a horrible fall and landed directly on my right knee. I am 21 now just to give you a time reference. My knee had a hard time bending again, i figured it was due to swelling. However, the other day I was trying to stretch and straighten my knee and I noticed a marble sized bulge. I touched it and moved it down. It can move from the top part of my right knee down to the bottom part of my knee. This is on the right side of my right knee. I assume that it would be cartilage. However, wouldn't my knee hurt a little more if I knocked off a chunk of cartilage that was the size of a marble?

I just acquired 4 new speakers, 2 Kef Model 104/2, and 2 Kef Model 103/4. I don't have a receiver or an amplifier... I am looking to buy both and was wondering if anyone had advice. I don't have a lot of money to spend, but i know if I don't spend enough the speakers will be wasted... So I'm trying to stay under 1000$ Thanks

My girlfriend and I live in California. We were living in an apartment with 2 other roommates. Unfortunately we did not get along with these roomates so we decided to get our own apartment and get out of the current lease. Our roommates signed the Release agreement and we brought it up to the office. The office filed it away in september and told us we were good to go. We called back one month later to make sure that we were off the lease and the apartment lady said "yes you are off the lease". We said okay. We called back one more time to double check and they said the same thing. However, today we recieved a call from the apartments saying "Rent has not been paid, we will contact our lawyers if it is not paid by today" We said "We aren't on the lease anymore and havn't been for 8 months." They told us "well a manager never signed it so it never went through, and your roommates never signed a new lease." What should I do?
