  • What size electric water heater to buy?

I have a family of 4, 2.5 baths in the northeast. Presently have an 80 gallon that needs to be replaced. Now these are considered commercial and are near $1000, but on the other hand I don’t want to be running out of hot water by downsizing. Current one is about 7 yrs old and it’s leaking. Not sure when they jumped high in price but all the houses in my neighborhood all have this 80 gallon heater. Thanks

  • Question about installing in wall speakers?

I am looking to install 4 Polk rc85i’s in my living room. 3 of the walls are exterior walls so they are filled with insulation and I’m assuming there’s a vapor barrier. My wires are already ran because I have in wall speakers now but want an upgrade. Is there an issue with cutting my walls to put these speakers in? Thanks

  • Question on insulating basement room..?

Insulating a soon-to-be finished room in basement. Already glued rigid foam insulation to cement walls then framed with 2x4s. Now looking to fill stud bays with fiberglass and I know I am suppose to use unfaced because the rigid foam acts as a vapor barrier. Problem is my local stores do not carry the unfaced batts or rolls! If I get the faced, is it ok to just peel off the paper vapor barrier and use that?

  • Should I buy an 07 Audi A8?

Looking to buy an 07 Audi A8L...car has about 90K on it, 1 owner, regular maintenance at dealer, no accidents. Another 07 is also 1 owner but with 81K and has one accident, but this owner is asking 4K more than the car with 90K on it.

My question is how are these FSI engines and how long is their life span? Is there anything in particular to look for in these engines; are they prone to leaks like the 3.2FSI engines?

Having been an Audi owner in the past as well as an A8 owner, I'm somewhat familiar with them, just not the newer FSI engines.

  • What are common problems on 07 Audi A8?

Looking to buy an 07 Audi A8L...car has about 90K on it, 1 owner, regular maintenance at dealer, no accidents. Another 07 is also 1 owner but with 81K and has one accident, but this owner is asking 4K more than the car with 90K on it.

Being an owner of 4 Audis in the past, I'm familiar with them, just not the newer style FSI motors. I know they have timing chains, what should I look for when looking at these cars? And what would you pay for either of these if they check out? Thanks

  • Used car price question?

Looking for a used Audi A8 and there are 2 nearby that have been for sale at dealerships for a long time. One is an 06 with 85K listed for $17800 that has been listed for over 85 days. The other is an 07 with 64K listed for $18800 for over 100 days. My question is how much room do you think these dealers have to sell these cars? Wouldn't they want to sell them rather than to hold on? When you call the dealers they say their price is an internet price and is final, no negotiating. I'd like to offer in the area of 16-16500 for either one if they check out ok. I'd tend to think I'd have the upper hand seeing tees cars have been sitting on their lots.

  • Traded in car, chances of reversing deal?

About a month ago I traded in my car for another one. Dealer gave me $8000, it's now on their lot for $12,800. It's got over 100,000miles, 9yrs old, it's a V8, so I personally don't think it will sell anywhere near that price plus it has a rebuilt title. The car I bought from dealer is 8yrs old, I discovered an oil leak and the check engine light came on. About to bring it back to them, but if they don't agree to fix it what are the chances I have reversing the deal? And what do you think they'll let me get the old car for seeing I know what they paid for it? At this point I'd rather have my original vehicle seeing there wasn't a single thing wrong with it when I traded it in.

  • How can I obtain a vehicle's previous title?

I bought a vehicle 3 yrs ago and just found out that it has a salvage title from New Jersey. This was never relayed to me by the dealer at the time of the sale and it did not show up on Carfax until much after I bought it because it looks like the vehicle was titled in New York when I bought it, which was a clean title. Then after I purchased it, the dealer (or someone else?) had a salvage NJ title which had never been transferred to my state (title washing). I want to obtain a copy of that NJ title to determine whether or not the dealer I bought it from had anything to do with this, which I believe he had full knowledge of. Has anyone had any experience in this? Thanks

  • Rebuilt title, what to do now?

Purchased a vehicle 3 years ago from a New Jersey car dealer, just went to try and trade it in and found out through Carfax that it has a rebuilt/reconstructed title! This info was not on Carfax when I bought the car and Dealer gave me a clear New York title of the car. It looks like it took some time for Carfax to catch up to this. There was no accident listed on Carfax, so I'm really not sure what happened. I don't see any evidence of flood either. The car is really in great condition, even the dealer told me that if it was totaled at one time, someone did a great job putting it back together.

My question is since it's been 3 years, do I have any recourse to go after the dealer who sold me the car? And, if so, what would I get? He never advised me of this and I did not get any discount when I bought it! Good thing is I only owe about 5K right now and the other dealer offered me 7K on a trade but I should have been offered in the area of 9K-10K he said if it was clear. My insurance company and my bank never caught on to this either!

    Thanks.

  • Question about tapping into romex?

Running some new receptacles using 12/2 wire. There is a 12/2 existing wire nearby I'd like to grab for power that is on its own 20amp circuit. Question is how exactly can I do this...I know use a junction box, but it seems like if I cut the wire I won't have enough slack to make the connection. I really want to avoid wiring back to the panel which is on the opposite side of the basement. Thanks

  • Is water and ice barrier necessary on deck ledger?

Building a new deck on my house and was wondering if its necessary to put a water and ice barrier felt paper behind the ledger board up to house. I know I have to use copper flashing to deter water, but is this other step necessary too? This is a new house that never had a deck on it before. Thanks

  • Question about backfeeding panel with generator?

About to get a generator and need to know what type of cord is needed in order to plug it into dryer outlet that is 3 prong and the outlet on generator is 4 prong. Do they sell those or would I need an adaptor or change out the dryer outlet to 4 prong? I am already aware to turn off the main breaker and all other breakers prior to doing this....This is just temporary until I can get it wired correctly through a box and switch. Thanks
