I purchased a defective item, so if I request a return and it's accepted, would I have to pay for return shipping? When I purchased it the shipping was free, but I would like a refund without paying shipping. I don't want to pay anything for an item that doesn't even work..

Also, would it make a difference if I listed the reason for return as "not as described" instead of "defective"??

I'm looking for an app that allows me to sell items like clothes, electronics, toys, anything and everything with free listings. Poshmark is more for clothing and I'm interested in selling in multiple categories. I'm new to Mercari but I'm not satisfied with the deduction of the shipping cost from the item's price (if listed as free shipping) when I'd like to ship through USPS, but pay the accurate shipping cost.
