  • whats fair........................?

Bill & Hillary Clinton paid in taxes and donations about 44% of their earnings over the past ten years

President and Mrs. Bush about 36% in 2007 and currently owe the government for 2007.

the Cheney's about 21% and they too currently owe for 2007.

and people criticize the Clinton's for being successful, is this what we call fair?

Conservative leaders seem to pay a much smaller portion of their income then liberal leaders pay and the conservatives want the wealthy to pay an even smaller portion.

Is this what you call right or fair?

  • Would this be an example of an apple not falling far from the tree?

WASHINGTON - State Department employees inappropriately examined the passport files of Democratic Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton, a security breach that forced Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to apologize to Obama.

The disclosure of inappropriate passport inquiries recalled an incident in 1992, when a Republican political appointee at the State Department was demoted over a search of presidential candidate Bill Clinton's passport records. At the time he was challenging President George H.W. Bush.

  • why does it seem like all republican plans favor the rich and big business over the working family?

JACKSONVILLE, Florida (Reuters) - Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney said on Saturday his $233.4 billion U.S. economic stimulus plan would rescue an economy on the "tipping point" of recession. His plan foresees $141.4 billion in stimulus to corporate America in measures that include permanently reducing the corporate tax rate to 20 percent from 35 percent over two years and allowing businesses to depreciate the value of new equipment purchases faster.

McCain has voiced apprehension over proposals for temporary tax cuts and more spending as suggested by many Democrats and Republicans, saying they result in additional strains on resources. McCain has instead proposed cuts in corporate taxes from 35 percent to 25 percent, extension of Bush's tax cuts, and elimination of the Alternative Minimum Tax, which was enacted to prevent wealthy taxpayers from using many deductions to avoid federal income taxes.

  • Should LeFevour be considered a front-runner for the Heisman in 2008?

Central Michigan's Dan LeFevour finished the season with 27 passing touchdowns and 19 rushing, falling just short of joining Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow of Florida as the only players to have 20 of each in the same season.

Central Michigan won their conference championship and almost beat Purdue in their bowl game. Shouldn't LeFevour be considered a front-runner for the Heisman in 2008?

    Why not?

  • do the words "lack of institutional control" mean anything to FSU?

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- Florida State coach Bobby Bowden called off an afternoon practice Wednesday to meet with his players, about two dozen of which are expected to be suspended for the Music City Bowl for involvement in an academic cheating scandal.

The university, citing federal privacy laws, has not identified the athletes being disciplined for cheating on an online music history exam. At least two football players already have been penalized for their involvement.

Athletes from other sports were also involved.

  • is it just a coincidence.............................?

Thick black smoke billowed from a fire Wednesday on the White House compound in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.

The blaze appeared to be located in Vice President Dick Cheney's suite of ceremonial offices on the second floor of the building. Executive Office Building, a commanding structure with a granite, slate and cast iron exterior at the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and 17th Street, houses staff of the National Security Council and other agencies.

Is it just coincidence that plastic, as in video tape, burns with a thick black smoke?

Thank goodness no one was hurt.

    Merry Christmas

  • Is it just my imagination.............................?

or is it correct that a lot of the republicans running for the presidental nomination have made a career of working for the government. These are the same politicians in the party that thinks government is bad and we don't need most of it. I know democrets have made a career of public service but they don't complain about how awful it is. Just wondering would love insight from both sides.

  • do you have an opinion about immigration and deportation..........?

so lets deport every illegal alien by the end of the year:

given the fact that U.S. citizens were having to wait almost a year just to get a passport

given the fact that illegals do mostly labor intensive work that the elderly work force can''t do

given the fact that illegals drive down the hourly wage they do work we would do if it paid better

given the fact that unemployment is about 5%

given the fact that our workforce that could or would do the work illegals do is about 100 million

who are we going to replace the illegal workforce with?

we are going to deport 8 to 10 million workers by the end of the year and replace them with 5 million workers who demand a higher wage and many of them just have a poor work ethic.

how much are we now willing to pay for our fruits, vegtables, getting our roofs fixed, carrying out our trash, all of those so called low wage jobs that illegals do.

how is deporting every illegal going to impact you?

  • do we all really hate....................?

illegal immigrants so much that we would begrudge them an oppurtunity to make amends and earn citizenship, or is it just a case of a loud minority that spews the hatred?

call me ignorant but i believe the majority want to find a way to allow illegals to earn their legal status and become productive citizens. NO AMNESTY, but amnesty does not have to mean deportation there are options. or maybe there aren't maybe i am just ignorant.
