Should LeFevour be considered a front-runner for the Heisman in 2008?

LeFevour is definatly a great player and has the ability to be a first day pick in the '10(?) draft. Especially coming from the MAC which never hurts as a QB. As far as Heisman, he may "technically" be a candidate going in top next season but his only legit crack at it will be his senior year. The good news for him is that I believe the team only has started 3 seniors so they are young and will continue to improve. It boils down to whether or not head coach Butch Jones stays or leaves for WV, as good a player as LeFevour is 3 head coaches in 3 years will be hard to overcome.

The odds of a none BCS conference teams player winning the Heisman are very low.

A none BCS player is usually in the top 5 candidates but no matter how well they play, they will be too much doubt to make them the winner.

It is exactly like the teams they play for example: Hawaii they are the country's only undefeated team but they didn't get to go to the championships even though a two loss team did.

P.S. I am not saying Hawaii should be in the National title game I am just saying that they didn't face hard enough competition to legitimately prove they belonged.

I don't think he should be considered because he simply doesn't play in a tough conference. His situation is similar to that of Hawaii and Colt Brennan, as well as Central Florida's Kevin Smith. He may wind up having the most single-season rushing yards, yet he doesn't even finish in the top 5 of the Heisman voting.

no because the voters only go for the big name players they would never vote for a guy on a team that lost to North Dakota State 44-14

I doubt it. MAC players don't get the recognition that they deserve. He'd probably be a better NFL QB than a lot of the big names.
