This might sound extreme, but my hairbrush collects lint and hair in about 2 weeks. I literally have to buy a new hair brush at least every month. It gets lint wrapped around each bristle, and white stuff (skin or grease?) on the bristles as well. Not to mention, hair builds up on that thing like crazy. It's disgusting, annoying, and I am desperate for advice on how to make it stop. Am I shampooing it wrong? Brushing it wrong?

I wash my hair every other day. When I wash it, I shampoo twice and condition. On days I don't wash it, I still condition. I used to wash it once every day, but I am doing everything i can to change things up and see the effects. I also used to use both Garnier shampoo and conditioner, but someone told me my hair will get used to those products and not work as effectively. So, now I have two different types of shampoo/conditioner and I switch off combinations of all the products.

As for brushing my hair, I used to literally tear the knots out. Again, someone mentioned to me that's bad for my hair. So, now I start from the bottom and work my way up which is slower, but less painful and better for my hair.

Once I notice the hair buildup, I will take all the hair out of the brush. But then all this lint and grossness is left behind. I'm tired of cleaning every single bristle individually and tired of buying new brushes every month.

Does anyone have any advice? I'm so desperate. Even if it means putting eggs in my hair, I want it to be healthier and more importantly I want my brush to stop getting so nasty so fast.

No, I am not sexually active, so pregnancy is not an option. I am 17 and I'm usually always at least a week late. But 20 days?
