  • Need help with German translation from a native speaker (Nur Muttersprachler, bitte)?

I'm trying to translate the phrase "Sow Wind, Reap the Storm" into German, based off of the English phrase "You reap what you sow."

The best I can come up with is "Erntet Wind; Sät den Sturm," in 3rd person plural indicative imperative, but I'm not sure if imperative is correct with the message I'm trying to convey...

i feel like subjunctive present would convey the thought better, but I'm not super familiar with the German subjunctive... conjugating it is no problem, what trips me up is when to use it.

So my question is, how would a native speaker of German translate "Sow Wind; Reap the Storm?" If you saw the phrase "Erntet Wind; Sät den Sturm," say on a shirt or something, would it make sense, or would you assume it was clearly written by a non-native speaker?

Any help would be appreciated, if I can figure this out, it will make a great tattoo :)

    Danke, Komeraden!

  • Which Simpsons episode...?

In which episode of the Simpsons did Homer pull a shotgun out of the towel rack?

It was a hilarious short scene, but i cannot remember what episode it was from... in the scene, Homer was in the bathroom, and when someone (i think either Marge or Lisa, but I'm not sure) told him something, he pulled a shotgun out of the towel rack and walked off like he was hunting someone lol.

It was hysterical, and I can't remember which episode it was in. Sound familiar to anyone?

  • What was the name of this rap song, and who sang it?

there's a song i remember from about 6 - 9 years ago, that my cousin and I used to listen to often in our partying days.

It was a rap song, I believe it was Gangsta Boo (could be wrong), and possibly featuring a rapper named Kinfolk (again, could be wrong). I don't think it was ever a well known song, possibly off of a demo or an early-career EP, and my cousin had it on a burned CD that someone made for him.

The chorus of the song was something along the lines of "Pill poppin' bitches pop a pill, ho."

I recall it being full of drug references, such as lines about "double stacks" (double strength ecstasy), and "motorolas and scooby doos" (the designs on ecstasy pills).

If anyone knows this song, please help.

    Thank you

  • when women use the restroom...?

When women use the restroom, do they put their pants to their ankles like men, or do they keep them up to their knees like my girlfriend?

This question arose when my girlfriend and I were watching family guy... she pointed out that a woman in a public bathroom stall (i think it was a school principal, but i can't remember) had her pants at her ankles, and claimed that women always keep their pants at their knee when using the toilet. This seems unlikely, and I suspect only she does, because she's paranoid, but why speculate? And i don't have the indecency to ask any women i know, because of the nature of the question...

  • If I run a System Restore (Windows Vista), will I lose everything on both my hard drive partitions?

My computer was built with the hard drive (700GB) split into 3 partitions - one 360 GB with everything on it, one 10 GB with the recovery drive/factory image, and one 310 GB with nothing on it - extra storage space.

I recently had a virus, got it all cleared up, but it managed to take out a few things with it, like the sidebar, zune, windows media player, windows movie maker, and all the windows games.

I have about 12,000 songs (75 GB), 5,000 pictures, and a few audio books that I want to keep before i reset it to factory settings, but i don't want to take the time to make 20 back-up DVDs, so i was wondering if I could put everything I want to save on the partition that has nothing on it (E:/), and when I run the system restore, will it only clean the main partition that has all of the windows files on it?

  • perhaps electrical system problem 1984 Mercedes-Benz 300 DT?

I seem to be having some kind of electrical problem with my car.

I hear a sort of clicking/shocking noise from near the firewall middle while inside the car; it sounds similar to a stun gun being discharged, and only occurs when I have the front defroster/main heater turned off. when i turn the defroster on, it goes away.

I have checked the battery cables and inspected the battery while the car is running, and i don't see any electrical discharge, and cannot hear it while outside the car.

occasionally while driving, the seat belt light will come on, and sometimes just before i start it up. the dashboard information lights will go off, while they usually stay on for about 5 seconds after the car is started. also, i occasionally get a little shock while closing the door after exiting the vehicle, suggesting that something is expelling electricity into the frame or something metallic connected to the frame.

i believe it may be associated with water damage to an electrical component; it started happening about a week ago after i degreased and power-washed my engine well (i accidentally left a half-empty bottle of oil open in the space behind the headlight after topping off all my fluids).

does anyone know what component may be damaged, or how to solve this problem?

I have never had any electrical problems (haven't had any problems with this car at all) before, and the problem seems to be either associated with and/or effecting the heat system.

i keep getting spam from a specific user. it comes to me with an incomming address in the format of a few letters separated by periods at live. com (example: f. mf. org at live. com (i assume a generated address), but using GMX.de's interesting spam identifier service, i have tracked down the originator's e-mail address, which is the same name he used in the e-mail. i would like to report it. is this possible?

the originator is: bensonjacksolicitors at yahoo.co.uk

i believe this account needs to be reported to administration for review.

  • why does my car shake when stopped then have slow acceleration?

i have a 1984 Mercedes-Benz 300D (3L inline-5 cylinder turbo diesel). Recently, it has begun to have accelleration problems: it'll run fine for the first 20 - 40 minutes, then as it gets warmed up (90 - 100*C), it'll start to shake when i come to a stop, then has very slow acceleration (about 10 - 12 seconds to get up to 20), and the longer i have it out on the road, the worse it gets - sometimes to the point where i have it floored and it'll only get up to about 30 m/h, other times it'll get up to 45 then slowly decrease down to 20 while keeping the pedal fully depressed.

also, when i come to a stop, the oil pressure guage drops by about 50% (from 3 to 1.5).

does the weather have this kind of effect on an old diesel engine (it only begun to do this when it started getting warm out)?

could she be in need of an oil change? it's been about 2 months since i had the oil changed, but since my odometer doesn't register all the miles correctly, i don't know how far it's gone.

    thanks
