10 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoCritical Analysis of Apostates as defined by Jehovah's Witnesses.?
Using critical analysis, contrast and compare skills, do you (the potential answerer of this question) see any similarities to the actions taken in the dark ages against "heretics" and the practice of the JW's towards apostates?
Thank you in advance for your logic and reason, and not ranting.
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoA question about the coming of Christ.?
36"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[a] but only the Father. 37As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.
If Jesus returned in 1914, as the WBTS teaches, then how was there two men in the field and one was taken., or 2 women grinding at the mill, one taken and the other left?
18 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoA question about Matt 24:45-51 and the Faithful and Wise Servant.?
45"Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. 47I tell you the truth, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, 'My master is staying away a long time,' 49and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards. 50The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. 51He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
If the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society claims that they are that Faithful and Wise Servant (aka Faithful and Discreet Slave), can versus 49 thru 51 apply to them also?
Do they in fact "beat their fellow slaves" via their man-made interpretations that harm?

28 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAccording to 1 Thes 4:13-18, I have a question:?
3. "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words" (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).
"concerning them which are asleep," If we die and go to heaven immediately, who are them which are asleep?

16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoSomething borrowed something blue?
I cannot find the exact poem or where ever this traditional poem can be seen in it's entirity. I also need help in turning that traditional few lines into something more pirate related
such as turning the six pence into a piece of eight or gold dubloom.
Any creative help in recreating those lines into a pirate related them is greatly appreciated as well as a link or full rendition of the full poem.
Thanks in advance.
5 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoWhen is "the last day" as mentioned in the Gospel of John?
John 6:39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day.
John 6:40 For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day."
John 6:44 "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.
John 6:54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
John 11:24 Martha answered, "I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day."
John 12:48 There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; that very word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day.
I'm not asking for a prediction of date, year, time, but in the grand scheme of God's timetable, what events happen immediately before "the last day"?

17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoJW's: If it is true that all activities or teachings that began as pagan are to be abandoned,?
and that is why such things as birthday, christmas etc are not celebrated. Your publications state that something that has its beginnings in paganism cannot be from God, then or at any time. So, I ask, "Have you ever considered your own beginnings?"
From all that is truly known of your beginnings, I would have to submit that the WBTS is of pagan beginings and therefore by your own standards of beliefs spring from paganism and are therefore NOT from God.
Your insights please...
25 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIf the early presidents of the WBTS were of the heavenly calling, why then...?
did they proclaim such falsehoods. The answers will probably include such statements as "light getting brighter" which does not actually explain the fact that Jehovah God's truths have always been clearly explained by those who truly are His spokespersons. If the faithful and discreet slave class didn't receive full and correct knowledge and understanding, then how can truth seekers trust the same organization's so called faithful and discreet slave class today? The true God of the Bible has never allowed false information to be spoken through His organization or His messengers. Those that spoke untruths were always punished. Those that went away from His truths were punished, for example Moses was not allowed into the promise land because of his errors. Wouldn't this be true also of the early presidents of the WBTS?
Below is the first question that has led up to this one.
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIs your religion the right one?
It is important that you "keep testing whether you are in the faith," as Paul declared. Keep checking to see whether the things you believe are in keeping with God's Word. But the question is, Are you willing to put your religion through such a test? There is nothing to fear, because if you have the right religion you can only be reassured by the examination. And if what you believe is not in keeping with the Bible, then you should welcome the truth, because it leads to light and life.
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoI have a question about support for College students by non custodial parent.?
When my husband divorced in 2000, part of MSA (Marital Settlement Agreement) was that he was responsible for 1/2 of his daughter's reasonable college expenses. Of course we want to help her go to college, but don't want to be taken advantage of by his ex-wife. She has decided where the daughter will live, made all these other plans for the college years without any input from the father.
If you have some solid advice to help us make sure we aren't paying too much (she has a 100% scholarship plus other graduation scholarships). We'd be most appreciative.
4 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoWhat body or group of individuals decided which apostolic letters and writings would be in the Holy Bible?
I was just wondering who decided what went into and what was left out of the New Testament. Paul, who wrote most of the books of the Bible, wrote many more letters than became books of the Bible. Other Apostles had to have had more writings, why weren't they included?
Please no bashing answers--if you don't believe in the Bible, save your time and don't answer, it's not worth the 2 points for being reported.
