  • Shooter at Fort Hood?

Do you think that the shooter at Fort Hood was really a terrorist but the US doesn't want to admit it because it would mean the US got hit again by terrorists? And it would make the US look bad around the world especially the Islamic countries. And could possibly lead to other single terrorist doing the same thing. It seems to me that CNN is really being guarded about this attack. They said he was against the war and that he didn't' want to fight his fellow Muslims. That's enough for me.

  • What do I substitute sodas with?

I am 345 pounds and I want to lose weight but I love soda. I hate the taste of diet soda; it makes me gag. I need something that I can substitute soda with. I like the feeling of the fizz in my throat. So I need something that is healthy that can do that.

  • This has been bothering me and I have been dealing with it for a while. Can you help me find the right answer?

I am a Christian first of all. And I started thinking about this.

Our response to the Word of God is not at times what God purposed it for. It is invaded with our own interpretations which are based on our respective backgrounds, fears, social practices, experiences, abuse, education, etc. The scriptures become strewed. We take the perspective of what our backgrounds, fears, pain has made us. We think with our wounds.

    How should we face God?

How do I get the Truth, if I’m interpreting it based on my fears, self-damming feelings, emotional handicaps, anger, etc. How can we find the Truth? How do I get the TRUTH--- How do I separate truth from me.

And how do I know it’s the TRUTH based on how God purposed it. If I’m influenced negatively through my background, preconceived notions, inferiority, fear, mental illness how can I determine what is God’s Truth is vs. what I interpret His Word to mean.

Even if you go to church, God speaks through the pastor, how do I know that His interpretations are not influenced by his own distorted views of God (many have been harmed by these). And if by chance they are not misconstrued but are based in Truth, how do I adhere to it correctly in a way that God intended minus my “baggage”.

  • What's the difference between the ordinances and the 10 Commandments?

There seems to be a lot of confusion among Christians about the need to follow the Ten Commandment law of God. Many have been unable to differentiate between the ceremonial law, also called the Ordinances, that were done away with at the cross, and the Ten Commandments, which are eternal.

This misunderstanding has led some to conclude that all Ten of the Commandments have been abolished and that we are now “Under Grace not the Law”.

The Ceremonial Law, with its sacrificial system, pointed the people to the coming of the Messiah. Every time an animal was sacrificed and it’s blood was shed in the old Jewish temple, it was a reminder to the onlookers that someday a Savior would come and die for their sins. Hence, John the Baptist pointed to our Lord Jesus Christ and declared, “Behold the Lamb of God”.

When He cried out, “It is finished”, the old Ceremonial Law, that pointed the people to His sacrificial death, was nailed to the cross.

  • Atheist what motivates you to do good?

I know some of you say that you don't need God to tell you not kill, steal, rape, etc. But do you realize that those commandments came from the Bible. Societies and cultures created laws based on the Bible, including USA.

So by admitting that you abide by these laws you are essentially obeying a God that you say doesn't exist. If you were a real atheist you would lie, steal, kill, etc. But your lives reflect the majesty and power of God.

    Ironic?

  • Spiritually speaking is looking forward to things worth it?

If you look forward to getting something you really really want and it doesn't happen, do you think the anticipation was worth it?

Is it easier not to expect anything? Not like having a negative attitude but being neutral so you won't be disappointed.

That way you want get hurt and if it happens it's great and if it doesn't happen that's fine too.

  • What are nonbelievers and non Christians so angry about?

You fear what you don't know and fear breeds hate. I don't get mad when someone doesn't believe in God or have another faith than my own.

I'm a Christian and I know some Christians get carried away and that makes you angry because we act like we have all the answers and condemn nonbelievers and non Christians.

But some of you atheist call us brainwashed drones believing in a false religion that doesn't make sense and there is no proof for our beliefs.

I don't get angry about that. In fact, I like that you all are here. It makes for interesting discussion. I believe in God. I'm secure in my faith.

Truth is Truth but where is the love?

Unfortunately, some of us believers forget sometimes that God draws us or drew us with love and kindness.

Zealotry -seeks to incite the people

Zealot Christians and Zealot Atheist both spewing hate either out of ignorance or fear showing itself through hate.

  • Atheist, how do you all measure good or bad?

Gentiles were judged, before Christ, by their own conscious. By their conscious they naturally followed The Commandments w/o knowledge of the Ten Commandments.

Is that how you all live? What is good or bad to you? What's your basis? Is it your conscious as well? I've always been a Christian so I measure right and wrong by the Bible. But what about those who do not believe the Bible?

I don't have an agenda for asking. I really want to know and I don't understand. I choose not to be ignorant of this. I WANT to know so please be serious.

  • Can I still get disability? Does Tylenol Simply sleep make you hear voices?

I have Bipolar Disorder and I applied for disability like 5 years ago. I was hospitalized a few times because of suicide attempts. I was denied the first time so I got a lawyer. I started feeling better so I got a job. Well haven't worked ft since 2003 I took this new job in 2008. The same month my disability court case was scheduled.

I chose to cancel my claim because I had a job where I could pay my bills. And I was stable.

After I got the job all hell has broke through. The police came to my house yesterday to try and take me to the hospital but I talked my way out of it.

I've been cutting uncontrollably and I keep hearing voices and it is very stressful and I don't know if I can take this stress any longer. I thought I was doing something good by trying to take care of myself and now it feels as though I"m being punished.

I want to stay in my house and barricade the door so no one can come in and never leave...ever.

I don't trust my family because they are trying to have me admitted and they tell me different stuff from the Bible. So I don't know what to do.

I was thinking about calling my lawyer and ask him if I could reapply.

Does anyone know if I can reapply for social security?

OH and I have been taking my medication consistently. I don't think it works so well anymore.

I have been taking Tylenol Simply Sleep does this cause me to be manic. I abuse it I take like 20 at a time. I take it so I don't have to think. Anyone hear voices when they take Simply Sleep?

  • Why do people always say the Jews killed Jesus when it was Our sins collectively that nailed Him to the cross?

If God had chosen to bring His Words, His Law through some other ethnic group the same things would have happened. Jesus was crucified for us all. I mean we all benefit, right? I mean those who accept His sacrifice, His grace.

  • If you weren't raised Christian how do you know there's a God?

What convinced you? I was raised Christian but I was curious how those who were not raised Christians came into the knowledge of God and became Christians. And why Christian vs. another religion?

  • The Bible, a soliloquy of sorts?

The bible is much more than people think. Some non Christians and some christian view the Bible as restrictive. Things you can and can't do. It so much more.

It's full of mystery, compromise, the supernatural, power, and great great knowledge that all would want to know.

In the Bible mysteries are revealed. It's fulfilling just open and read. There are angels, demons, power struggles. There is mysticism all wrapped up in Love.

There is guidance to the right path. There is peace and certainty. You won't find the power and the intrigue you seek in any other source than the Bible.

If you would only take a look you will see that This bible goes far more than what you have been taught and/or see on tv or in church or some Christians.

We operate in the heavenly realms. We, through through God's Spirit, can fathom the greatest mysteries. Understand the true nature and motives of man.

With God's help you can tell the future. You can be warned of impending danger. Not all the time but enough that you will be amazed.

The power, love, peace, and grace God offers through His Word (The Bible) is not related to anything else you have done or will do on this earth. The power behind the Bible is amazing!

Christians can see auras, can see angels, and demons. All that these other beliefs we Christians have the power to do it too. But ours is based on Love.

    Love never gives up.

Love cares more for others than for self.

Love doesn't want what it doesn't have.

    Love doesn't strut,

    Doesn't have a swelled head,

    Doesn't force itself on others,

    Isn't always "me first,"

    Doesn't fly off the handle,

Doesn't keep score of the sins of others,

    Doesn't revel when others grovel,

Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,

    Puts up with anything,

    Trusts God always,

    Always looks for the best,

    Never looks back,

But keeps going to the end.

  • What does it mean to have a relationship with the Lord?

What are the benefits, incentives. The reason I"m asking is I want a closer relationship. I do things that hinder that relationship with God. I need to know what I am missing so I can use it for strength.
