My mom passed out at work and broke her ankle. The employer has no liability. The accident could have happened anywhere, she just happened to be at work. Do we file as a workers comp claim or can we go through health insurance? We are not fishing for a claim we just aren't sure where to go. The state is KS if that helps.

Will this rebate reduce my refund amount that I get when I file my 2008 taxes in 12 months? If I recall that is how it worked last time they did this.

I had a gallbladder attack Saturday night. I am 28 weeks pregnant and had eaten A LOT of pizza for lunch that day. I have been put on a restricted diet and have had no problems since. I have 2 questions...

I am going for a short trip to Vegas. Typically is it cheaper to leave on a Friday and come home on a Sunday or leave on a Saturday and come home on Monday? I guess I could also do like Thurs-Sat as well.

Which would be cheaper...Running several space heaters throughout house or running gas heater at 70 degrees day and night? Which space heater is more econimcal a Vornado or an oil heater? We have to keep house warm at night as toddler has room over garage and it is colder in there.

My mom has a PPO and went to an out of network specialist for her back. She just got an EOB and her insurance only paid R&C and left her with an additional $700 of bills. My question is this: Do doctors typically write off the difference or is my mom going to see this in her bill? Doctor was paid 1k already. If my mom is responsible for amount over R&C is there anyway to contest with her insurance company?

One of the major news stations was saying that the one of the first things the democrats will do is repeal some of the tax cuts Bush enacted, specifically the marriage tax penalty.
