I recently watched the movie 'The Gambler' based on Dostoevsky's novel by the same title.

There's a scene where John Goodman's character (a loan shark) mentions having enough money to be in a F**k You position - essentially being financially set for life.

Hence, my question to those versed in finance, business etc. is this; Given $1,000,000 today, what are some examples of a plan/s you would put in place to make sure you never lack for money ever again? e.g. Interest bearing accounts etc.

Please I would kindly like to ask what exactly are the advantages of someone taking out a Life Insurance policy as opposed to simply saving up you money and writing a will. Do Life Insurance policies actually pay the Insured person's family more than the person could have left for them by just saving the money and willing it to them?Do life insurance policies pay the family more than the actual amount the Insured person contributed while alive?

Please, can anyone explain to me in detail why wealthy people(celebrities, sports stars) sign up for mortgages on homes or mansions when they have the money to pay in full. I mean why not own the house/mansion upfront instead of risking it being repossessed if you default on a payment later when you are experiencing bad times. For me it just does not seem to make sense that most of these wealthy people go bankrupt/broke and even lose their homes; so could someone with knowledge of the dynamics of mortgages kindly explain.Thanks

I have a package Fedex prepaid package which I had already paid for a while back as a Fedex International Priority package. Now this package is about to be picked up by FedEx tomorrow and shipped. I'm searching for the title of an action movie made probably in the 80s/early 90s. There are about three soldiers(or mercenaries, not sure) sent on a mission. One of the soldiers, a black guy,gets his leg bitten of by a crocodile while they are crossing a river and decides to stay there and delay the enemy soldiers while the others get away. Also there is a part where one of the remaining soldiers uses his knife to make a cut on his arm and smears the blood on a rope bridge to trick the enemy soldiers. At the end, one of the soldiers uses a bazooka to blow up the bad guy. Also i think at the end, one of the soldiers clings onto a helicopter and kills another bad guy trying to fly away.
