What's up with the war on Christmas?
I thought Christmas was all about sharing Christ and feelings of goodwill with others. However it seems like it is more about forcing people to say "Merry Christmas." Should we go around scowling at anyone who says "Happy holidays" and reply "That's merry Christmas, you godless geek." Or maybe we should police our neighbors' houses to make sure they put up sufficient quantities of decorations.
22 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoA question for Protestants?
What functions does a Protestant pastor perform that a woman cannot do. I could understand why women cannot be Catholic priests, since priests are supposed to have magical powers, which maybe a woman would not have. A Protestant pastor has no magical powers. Why can women not serve as pastors?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIf a false priest said mass and the people worshiped the host, would they be idolaters?
Catholics believe that during the mass the bread and wine become literally the body and blood of Christ. When this happens, the priest lifts the bread up and a bell is rung so that the people can worship it. If a false priest were saying mass, unbeknownst to the congregation, would they then be idolaters?

Some of it is negative, but many of the songs promote positive spiritual values.
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy can't Muslims and Christians find any common ground?
If you put all the Muslims and Christians together we would make up over half of the world's population. Surely we must have some interests in common. Sadly we can't even agree on anything even within our own communities.
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAre space and time properties of things as they are, or are they simply properties of our own minds?
The philosopher Kant held that space and time do not exist as properties of things in themselves. They are preconditions for us to have any sort of experience of things. They exist within our own minds. According to Kant, we can never experience things as they are in themselves.
2 AnswersPhysics1 decade agoHow does God speak to you?
God speaks through Scripture, through other people, through our own minds, through dreams, through nature. Have I left anything out? Perhaps he speaks to you in some other way. How does he speak to you most often?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow do your religious beliefs differ from those of your parents? How are they the same?
Many people have difficulty separating what they genuinely believe for themselves from traditional beliefs that have been handed down to them. On the other hand, none of us forms everything from scratch. We all build on the beliefs that have been handed down to us. What beliefs are genuinely yours, and what do you have as an inheritance that you have not made your own? Is there anything that you have thrown out or rejected?
