  • Is this person an "evil little thing?"?

Or is she being unjustly reviled by a State Representative?

  • Is it me, or does anyone else see the fallacy?

    A few premises...

    1. The bible is geographically centered in the Middle East/ Mediterranean basin

    2. All of the bible stories involve this very location.

    3. God has made all things (earth), is omnipotent and omniscient.

Why is it, then, that only the Middle Eastern/Mediterranean people and places were involved in the bible stories? What of the Asians, Mayans, early Europeans, and especially Africa where remains have been found to be many thousands of years old? Why did they not become a party to the whims of an almighty, omnipotent, and omniscient God? Surely he knew he had made these other people located around the world he also made. Why is there no reference to other people outside of the area previously mentioned? Why would a "loving" God desert his creation?

    Because there isn't one.

  • Should Religious Organizations be taxed?

I just read an article regarding church pastors flagrantly defying the IRS regs against politicking from the pulpit (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/44741162/ns/politics-t... Many intend to record their diatribe and send it off to the IRS so as to pick a fight to get it to court.

So, here is the question. Should churches pay taxes (whether they politic or not)? This would cause a complete change in HOW most churches keep their books. As a side question, are churches using GAAP for accounting?

    A. Yes, just like all businesses. This includes property taxes, sales taxes, et al.

    B. Yes, but with deductions for charitable works as well as general business deductions.

    C. Yes, but only on very specific incomes like some other charitable organizations.

    D. Heavens no. That would be rendering unto Caesar what is not Caesar's.

Please offer reasons for your answer.

    Thanks!
