  • Thyroid test results help?

Specifically, I am currently on Synthroid but not really sure what these results mean. For a while I felt better, then started to notice pain when I exercised/eat better. Then I hit rock bottom depression and all the symptoms of hypothyroid came back. This test is what the doctor ordered, but I do not see him till wed. Help me interpret these:

    FT4-1.25

    Ft3-2.5

    TSH 2.6

Previously only TSH was tested so I decided to get a diff doc to test the ft3/4. Previous THS was 1.7, 1.5, 1.3

a1c? -5 the diabetic one way back. I believe I may have to get this again.

  • KIA problem needing some advice?

I have a thermostat stuck open (that was just replaced), and a torque converter that is stuck off. Both codes just came up together.

The car idles low, especially in reverse. Drives fine unless I go up a hill, and the temp never reaches optimal heating temp. It does rattle some like shaking a pan sound. As far as temp gauge, it stays between mid and C unless stopped. Thermo never did this prior to fix.

It seemed to miss in reverse, but none of the forward gears and it was just once. Are they related, what can be done to fix, and what diagnostic should I use, what would it detect, and where to take it considering on is transmission (AAmaco) and the other thermostat (Pep Boys or similar ma pop shop)?

  • Rights buying as is car?

The car was 'fine' when purchased as is. Less than a week later it wouldn't start. Brought it in and they fixed. Next a week passes and check engine light came on a second time. Thermostat. Took in and said they repaired. Two days later check light is on again. Sale is still under 30 days. Has a transmission code and thermostat still.

Small dealer stated the car had 100, 000 mile warranty but this is not transferable to subsequent KIA owners. DO I have any rights to reverse the sale of a car that doesn't work. I am reading the laws like Unfair and deceptive. Verbal misuse of warranty information, and Warranty of Merchantability. (udap laws). These laws are ones that get around the as-is talk because the car doesn't run correctly.

    Kia Rio 2004

    48000

Can I make a claim and reverse the sale?

    State is Tenneesee

  • My Kia has error codes P0128 and P0741. Please advise?

    Codes mean:

    Torque converter stuck off, possible faulty solenoid, low coolant level, coolant thermostat below operating tempt range, faulty thermostat, open or short circuit, possible poor electrical connection at cts {Auto Zone readout}

I just bought this car three weeks ago from a dealer. The thermostat was 'replaced' by them 2 days ago but the check engine light came on for the third time. The car stays at a low temp unless it is at a stop light. Does that mean the thermostat messed up the torque solenoid or is that separate?

We checked the fluid and it was full. I can do a fluid change with filter, but I want to see if anyone is aware of this same issue before I do that. What do these codes mean together. I just had the thermostat fixed two days ago and noticed the car doesn't get up to regular heat when driving.

Kia rio base model 2004 with 48000 miles

So how much does the Torque converter run, and thermostat I was quoted around 300 bucks

Please no cut and pastes, just need an idea of what happened and how to best approach fixing it. Any ideas on warranty for 100,000 miles appreciated

  • why is blue cross blue shield p network more than the s network?

I am currently searching for new insurance and noticed these plans for the $1000 deductible vary in price. Can someone familiar with the coverages enlighten me. i am also doing searches and know one is preferred (p) and one is select (s). Both cover the same things and for the life of me I can't figure this out. Thanks :)

p.s. I already know one is cheaper due to the deductible on prescriptions

  • what does this hypothyroid number mean?

I recently went to the ER for numbness in hands feet and tongue (on and off and on both sides). I had several tests and am otherwise ok. While there I ended up being told my TSH was 18. can someone tell me how bad that is, and why these extreme (to me) symptoms are not as common.

I am currently undergoing some medical help, seeing doctors, but would love any insight to the basic number that I got and what it means. I do not have a t (ft) 3 or 4 number at this time. I did have a baby a few months ago and heard this can come from that, or the immune system attacking the thyroid. I am afraid I will only get 'treated' and not find the cause either. I of course will find a new doctor at that time.

  • Car situation that I cannot explain?

    1998 Mitsubishi gallant automatic

The transmission filter and fluid need to be changed at least once a year to work (it seems). This is not supposed to be the case. Now the car, when on and sitting in the same place, blows a lot of smoke out the back. It also will stall, not go into fifth gear unless the service is done. once the service is done, it runs great. then as time goes on the car seems to have trouble shifting, or slipping and rev's up. as I drive it will stall out randomly but restarts.

The battery, oil, distributor have all been changed. The car starts fine, and when not 'working' restarts just fine. when it is not working it just stalls as I am driving but the alternator and starter are both ok. could this be a fuel pump issue? I had someone look at it and they said these transmissions were known to do this. any advice would help.

What could be causing the filter, fluid, or situation to cause these things to happen when it is totally not supposed to? this service I do once a year or so (10,000 miles). it will fix the issues until it needs to be redone. after it is done the car works great. no stalls, slips, no low idle. after having done this twice now it doesn't seem to be coincidence. before i do it a third time i'd like to know if it is worth it at all. I do believe something is causing it, but not sure what. I would say it still smokes a tad in the exhaust but i think something else may cause this.

  • Mitsubishi gallant 98 transmission question?

I have had my car shut off or jerk while in motion. I had a service done last year but cant remember what is was called. I bought fluid and a filter and someone changed it over for me. Once the service was done the car ran great for 10k miles or so. I believe they changed the transmission fluid and its filter and nothing else. He said this type of car is known for going through filters and having this issue, but I've had no help finding any info.

    All I need is:

Can someone advise what the type pf service is called and what does it roughly run? I think I spent 150 the most on the stuff they used. Thanks

  • Help for a dog with a large butt canal (poop too large to pass)?

    Serious helpful comments only please.

I have taken my dog to the vet. The doctor said he has an unusually large anus. This results in his poop becoming large balls that cannot pass through is rectum. This may have resulted from a previous bout of constipation. I have gone to a softer diet, and the vet pulled the large pieces out with an enema. He said there was no more hard just soft left, but today there is another one. He also ruled out blockages.

I have the dog on regular pumpkin (as needed), softer food, and exercise him daily. I also checked the correct amount of food he should intake as to reduce the larger poop. Can you offer any advice short of giving him more fiber, enema's and help reduce the poop ball that seems to result no matter what I try for him? He simply cannot pass the poop this big and round, and the softer food has been well over a week. I have added water, but am not sure if it was dehydration. His skin is not dehydrated when tested by us both. I know the colon can suck water out if the body needs it. I will try water with flavor (like chicken) as well this week.

The dog is 6 years old, dachshund, male and neutered. He has been tested and is negative for worms and a blockage.

  • What is the "age of accountability"?

I am not looking for personal views on faiths or what is right or wrong in this question. What I would like to understand from various people is what they would consider the age for a young child too understand who and what God is, and the sacraments.

I am not asking whether to make my child 'have to ' believe just approximately when they would generally start forming these ideals for them selves accordingly. (for example I was around 4 to five when I started to ask questions and am a big skeptic on many things) I do understand that my child will grow up and make decisions I may or may not like as they get older, and I just want to educate fairly, but justly.

For some children they find God or a faith/belief from a young age. Others will not find it till they are older. I do believe it is a matter of personal relationship if one seeks to be Christan, though i was brought up catholic. I want to teach my child about my understanding as well as those of other cultures to make a informed decision about what she feels is right. I know I can best answer christan ones, but i want to help her understand why others feel as they do as well. This can be confusing for a young one so I appreciate help.

I do not PERSONALLY feel baby baptism is right though for us. I went through my full catholic session. It was years of drilling, rituals and the like but not to say that this is always the case. I have no problem against it either. It actually feels odd not following in the path in the same way. On both sides I can find support and denying. I have made the choice on how to proceed but not sure how to. But infant baptism will not save my child imo. Hence the age of accountability where a child is aware is important. If she is to find God, I want to help her so that when she is aware and mature or ready, she can make this choice and I can support her. (there are verses that say let the children come unto me, and there are others that say the kingdom of heaven is theirs (the children ). I do not find that God would damn my child for not receiving infant baptism, but again my opiion and I have looked long and hard.

God washes sin by receiving his word yada yada I get it I can dedicate if I feel a need for a public statement. I understand it is not the same thing. I respect opposing views even if they are not what I choose to follow. Anyway, I understand to a measure that she may not follow my understanding, but this is the way people find their faith. (course I can hope she would find God/the truth).

In all this my basic concern is the age of accountability often mentioned. For me this changes daily, and I cannot understand a child understanding consequence as well as right or wrong. When is aware aware? I am a first time parent and assume that each child is different. My guess is between ages 8-12 some earlier and some later. I also feel God would not send a baby in the world and leave them to hell if they don't find him at a precise time and way. Or of the parents were not doing this or that. It defeats the purpose of faith all together. I do not wish my experience to be the same as hers. Please give me an idea, and not so much the right or wrong of this choice. It is the way it shall be based on experience, faith and understanding. I also looked up various other examples of infant baptism for example: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=201006... is only one of many many long months.

  • My Dog is food Hoarding?

Took my dog to the vet several times and to diff vets.

My dachshund is about 6 now and continues to stand over his food. before we had trouble getting him to eat when he was younger. We noticed standing over him he would eat and be fine, but didn't make a habit of it. We decided to leave it down so he could eat went he learned to be ok and comfortable with it. Now i have had this dog since he was a real young puppy.

I know it is a trait to bury it, but he takes a few pebbles and moves them from the kitchen to the carpet. Sometimes he leaves them. Its like he wants me to see he is eating, or, watch us so he brings the food out of the kitchen. Now we have left the bowel down for him. There are days in which he won't eat, but just stands over it. we feed him twice a day. Also if we walk in the direction of the food he growls which is getting a tad worse. As a result this is making other issues when he uses the bathroom. (i have had him checked for bowel and tummy issues). Where or why does he feel the need to do this?

He is acing like this, and also like he is very hungry trying to get at my food whereas he didn't. There are no worms...no nothing we can find. The only thing i can think of is that he is jealous maybe of my 4m old? even before her he started this. I am a stay at home mom...and my dog...could he just be overly attached to me? Perhaps he needs more time outside?

Anyway anything would be helpful. Its not a matter of the vet.

  • A baby who won't accept a bottle when crying to eat?

I've read through several similar responses:

By baby is already on soy, have tried gas drops, gripe water, and smaller feeds. I sit her up and lay her up unless she is getting a diaper change. Most times I lay her flat she gets bad and heavy hiccups. I have tried a small amount of rice in the bottle but this constipated her and made her cry more. She was up to 4 oz but seems to be taking less. She makes the cry for food "nay, nai" but refuses the bottle. I suppose it is colic but it is never the same time. She did have a small bout of constipation then very loose stools. Of course she will be going to the doctor but I wanted to ask in the meantime to ease my mind. The baby is 6 weeks old right now and on good start soy. She seemed to do a bit better on isomil...but that was such a short bout an this seems kind of random. I had her on enfamil, similac reg, sensitive, and isomil so I am not sure what else I can possibly do for her even without gripe water working.
