  • Do you prune a dwarf-apple tree?

I have three dwarf-apple trees, one Golden Delicious, one Fuji and one Jonathan Apple. Do they need pruning, if so how much do you cut it back? And do you need to remove the new branches that grew near the ground at the trunk of the tree?

  • How to help my daughter?

My daughter has her 6th grade final exams. She is so nervous about it and I think she is over studying. She is a A-Honor Roll and afraid she might totally mess up and only get a B or even a C. I told her that this would not be the end of the world, but she is at a point that she has night mares like sitting in front of the test sheet and can not even remember how to spell her name. What can I do to ease her up and just stop worrying.

  • Can anyone help with my fishpond question?

I have two questions, will a heron figure/statue ward off the real herons and how can I stop my Shubunkins from 'jumping' down my little waterfall that connects my two ponds. In the smaller upper pond are the Shubunkin and in the bigger and deeper bottom pond are Koi. I would like them to stay seperate.

  • Why does my pond lose water only over night?

I have a two level pond with waterfall. First I thought I have a leak at the waterfall connection, negative. Checked the filter and pipe connection, negative. Turned off the filter and pump to see if the liner has a hole and which part of the pond is leaking, negative again. Nothing went over the top either. During the day there is hardly any water loss. But during the night the water level goes down by about 2 to 2.5 inches, even when everything is turned off. Each pond is about 12 feet x 14 feet x 3 to 3.5 feet, so 2 inches is a lot of water to refill every day

  • how to stop my puppies from fighting with each other?

I have two puppies a male, neutered x/terrier mix 7month and a female Rottweiler mix 4 month old. At the beginning they got along just fine, but now the female is almost twice the size and weight of the male, she always ate first left/entered the door first and now she wants to lay down where he is or get the toy first, but he does not want to give in at all cost. It starts as play-fight and is getting pretty rough at the end till I say 'STOP'. Then they sit nicely right next to each other and wait for the next thing to come. But soon as I turn around they are at each other again. Sometimes it is so rough that the male yipes and/or limps if I was not fast enough to call it off. I am afraid one day I might not be able to stop it in time. Or could it be that the male just misunderstands the typical Rottweiler grunt as a growl. It took me a while to sort that difference and will he ever accept her as his higher ranked? He is otherwise a real coward and pretty much scared of everything, while she stands her ground and does not flinch no matter what. So I understand that she wants to take the leader role over him. What should I do?
