My fridge and freezer have a strong sweet chemical odor. It is to the point to where I can taste it in my food. It has been brought to my attention that there could be a refrigerant leak. If that is the case, should I replace the food in the fridge? Could this pose as a potential health risk to my kids?

My fridge and freezer have this strong sweet chemical smell. Normally, it wouldn't bother me, but now it's starting to affect the taste of my food. I am worried that this could pose a health risk to my kids. Does anyone know what this could be? It is absolutely not spoiled food or a cleaning product I used.

My daughter has not shown any signs of the "step reflex" not even lifting her feet off the ground. I'm going to be asking her ped, but I wanted to see if anyone else had this happen or what anyone may know about it.

Ever noticed if you even breathe the word Breastfeeding... a horde of know it all nutso moms come out of the woodworks to bully you into breastfeeding.

Yes... breast is best... but come on... why not tell women they had better breastfeed or they're going to hell... I wonder if some believe that?

Seriously... breastfeeding is the best thing... if you can do it... great... if not, then you do what you have to do! Nobody should be bullied into it though!

All of these women talk about the bonding (I personally, never felt an extreme bonding in those moments), well if you are bullying another mom into breastfeeding... I highly doubt all her anxiousness is going to allow her to be sucesssful at it anyway!

When your children were newborns, did other people ask you if their eyes were open yet?

Can anyone tell me where I would find per diem rates? A website, or where I would navigate to in AKO. Specifically for dependents.

My two children and myself will be staying with my mom for the rest of the year. My husband is away for training, and since we are having another baby, he wanted me to be with family during my last trimester (and to give birth), in case things were to go wrong (he will not be able to be present for the birth, due to the training).

My question is, because we aren't just visiting for a week, like we would normally, what should I contribute to the household bills and groceries?

At this point, I am buying groceries only for my kids and myself. My mom rarely eats at home and only cooks when she has her turn with my brothers (every other week). I'm not trying to be petty, just giving all the details, my brothers obviously go through any food in the house, and nothing is clearly marked "yours" or "mine." I have no problem with that. I am currently supplying all of the milk, eggs, and cheese (because of WIC, so there is no cost for me.. obviously). My mom asked that I start helping with the weeks she is cooking for my brothers, because when she DOES cook, my children and myself do partake in the meal, which seems fair enough to me ( I do contribute some of what I have bought, as in a vegetable or bread or whatever I can). It is possible that I may have to help her with the gas, water, and electric, if there is a significant increase in her bills.

All in all, it seems rather complicated. Should I sit down and decide some sort of temporary "rent" with her, maybe a rounded number to average it all out?? We are a one-income family, and I absolutely do not expect my mom to foot the bill for our stay, but our money is rather tight. Any suggestions on what I should do, and resonable amounts of rent I could suggest to her would be helpful.

I wanted to add, she has a friend renting a room from her and is charging her $300 a month. She has to supply her own groceries and etc. She certainly isn't here throughout the day (because she works) so she is not going to cause a significant increase in much of anything.

I am visiting my mother and she owns a pet rabbit. I would like to help my mother out by tending to her rabbit for her, since her schedule is always jam packed. I have searched and searched the net about whether or not rabbits pose any risk to my baby, and have come up empty-handed. I was wondering if anyone might know something in regards to this. I am, of course, going to ask my doctor, but I would still like some input from other people as well. The rabbit is litter trained, if that makes any difference. Serious answers only, please.

My neighbor has been ordered to appear before the court regarding a case dealing with his wife and daughter. I'm not going into details, as it is a very long and complicated story. He is currently in the Navy. His unit is currently on assignment in Okinawa (because of alot of complications, his unit redeployed him home). His command told him that they will redeploy him back to Okinawa and when he is due to appear in court, he will have to find and fund his own way back for the hearing. Can they actually do this to him, or are they blowing smoke etc etc? Under what circumstances would his command be allowed to do this, and if they ARE allowed, what circumstances would make them unable (example.... the hearing is for a more serious matter than, let's say, witness to a robbery??). I'm sorry if any of this is confusing, please let me know if there is anything I need to clarify. Thank you in advance, and only serious answers please.

I'm trying to encourage my twin 3 year olds to use the big toilet. They have been out of diapers during the day since they were 2 1/2 and havent used them at night for about a week. We have had some success in getting them to sit on the toilet, but only a few times, and they have never actually used it to potty.

Also, one of my girls totally freaks about pooping in her potty chair, the other one is doing good with it. The one that is having trouble just sits and cries and she will hold it for days. Which I know cannot be very healthy for her. When I say "cries" what I mean is that she cries in a mix of fear and frustration. She is my sensitive kid, so new things are so hard for her emotionally.

I know I will never get the one with the pooping problem on the big toilet until we master that. So any tips for any stage of training would be really helpful.

My biological father took off when I was an infant. I finally tracked him down when I was 21 (I am 24 now). Our relationship has had some ups and downs. More downs than ups, really. We have only spoken on the phone, and I would prefer to keep it that way (that is, if I still continue to speak to him at all). We talked almost everyday for the majority of last year. A few weeks ago, he used the "b-word" against me (said I was acting like a *****) in a joking manner. I get very insulted when anyone uses that word against me in any manner, joking or not. I told him this and stated how much it upset me and also asked him not to use it again. Instead of listening he continued to joke and say the same phrase again (containg that awful word). I quickly made an excuse to hang up because it made me so angry. I haven't talked to him much since then, and when I actually do, I don't think it's been over 5 minutes. The whole situation really made me question his character.

My friend and I have been trying to track down the regulation covering this subject, but we haven't had any luck. Her husband has been in for almost 10 years (you would think by now he would know better anyway) and has lugged along everything he has been issued since BCT. She would be more than happy to get rid of the enormous boxes they have been forced to drag around everytime they move, but we just need to have the specific regulation in order to convince her hard-headed husband to do so. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
