Musicol
Oh, I love life. I've been lucky to be able to live my life without oppression (since divorce) or any adversity (since working hard). I also love great music. The other things I love are private.
Construction site 110v power. Is it AC or DC?
I've just completed my AM2 exam (successfully!). This question appeared in the on-line exam. However, having spoken to the tester/examiner and a very knowledgeable electrician, I've still got conflicting answers to this question. Without giving you my own answer and rational thinking, and that of my other two conflicting sources, can you give me a conclusive answer - with your explanation please!
10 AnswersEngineering9 years agoElectrical Installations course in Croydon, UK?
I want to gain qualifications in Electrical Installations - as an evening course or internet-based studying. I'd also like to do this in under 12 months. One of the main things I want is to be qualified to install electrical items (water-pumps, lights etc) in gardens. Anyone have any ideas about the best courses for me to do, and what qualifications I may need???
2 AnswersHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoSo for those who believe there will be a second coming...?
How do you know he hasn't been and gone already?
Beards were all the rage in the 60s and 70s.
And the Middle-East has always been full of people waving their arms. (and firing them)
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade ago'Tis the season to be jolly...?
So why do so many christians sound angry and aggravated?
Happy Xmas!
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoSo those annoying idiots shouting in the streets with their bibles...?
Have they been conned the most?
The more they believe, the more they can't believe they've been duped!
22 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoThe bigger the religion, the bigger the con...?
The power and might of religion has historically been pretty brutal in its endeavours to convert everyone in its path.
But there also has to be a 'story' to back up the brutality and oppression. So the better the story, presumably the more powerful the message.
Note to major religions - come up with a really good story to back up your claims for ownership of 'the truth'. Oh look - they figured this out in The Holy Land already! - they've come up with three completely different good stories, one after the other.
So do they all believe that their con is better than the others?
19 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIf we found conclusive proof that the world wasn't 'created' by a god, we wouldn't make it public...would we?
After all, it would probably be better to perpetuate the myth for the masses who believe.
Maybe they've already disproved his existence, and are keeping it a well-kept secret?
23 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoSo god sent the tornado to London yesterday???
I was listening to a phone-in this morning, and many christians were calling in to say that the tornado was a message from god. It was "punishment", "a test of faith", a "show of strength", a "wake-up call", and various other interpretations.
Was this just another example of the nutter christians finding 'meaning' from a completely random and explainable event, or do the moderate christians cringe when they hear the nutters give credit to god for his destructive act?
And are my atheist friends going to repent having seen god's anger and wrath!?
18 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoSo jesus' DNA must have been pretty wild?
His DNA would have been a mixture of Mary's and what?
If they did a test on the turin shroud, they should be able to get some of god's DNA? Even the immaculate conception must have donated an egg containing DNA. Yes, this was too advanced for the bible inventors, wasn't it?
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoOh God, how can I stop my son crying?
My son came up to me and asked the age-old question, "Dad - how can Santa deliver all those toys to all the world's children all at the same time?" I explained that it was a similar situation to how God could watch 6 billion people every second of every day. He responded, "so you mean Santa's a made up fairy story as well!?" Poor lad hasn't stopped crying since. Should I try and talk him into believing all myths again, or do you think that at the age of 21 he's probably a bit too old for all this Santa and god stuff?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWould god rather we kill, or be gay?
There is a commandment that says we shouldn't kill, and yet there are many references in the bible as to when it's acceptable to kill. (Homosexuals especially should be put to death).
And then there's the Islamic view. Gays aren't exactly celebrated, are they!?
I think god secretly prefers the murderers, doesn't he!?
The commandments are just political correctness.
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWill god give me thumbs up?
Or will the atheists give me thumbs down?
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHas god been brainwashed by humans?
He wanted 7 days a week off. Stop bothering him, and we can all deal with reality.
16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIs atheism/agnosticism more considered and intellectual than religion, which is more blindly believed?
Especially when we are 'educated' with religion rather than common sense - it must take some rational thinking to go against the mythical fairy tales. The free-thinking atheists/agnostics are totally aware of the bible-version of events. But they've questioned rather than been brainwashed. Does this make them 'cleverer' than the god-botherers?
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoGod couldn't exist, could he?
Because if he did, he wouldn't let people kill in his name.
Religious folks say he can answer prayers, therefore, that he can have a physical effect on things.
If he can have a physical effect on things "because it's god's will" why wouldn't he intervene on those who wish to kill others in his name?
Hasn't he got any power until we die? (Supposedly?)
What use is his almighty power?
Did he get exhausted making the world?
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat's your favourite part of the crucifixion?
You know, before all the resurrection and stuff
27 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAtheists and agnostics - my spirit thingy will need a name...?
Up to now, it's promised to answer the wishes for extra sex, cake, badminton and bananas.
It's going to get back to us on the free downloads for life, but it's guaranteed them upon death.
But it has graciously allowed us to choose its name.
Any offers?
Oh, and why does the 31st answer always disappear? Even my spirit thingy doesn't know!
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoConsidering how this (UK) is a christian country...?
...and we can't get through our school years without having religious 'education' and worship rammed down our throats;
...and we blindly believed it because it was taught as though it is fact;
...and the bible is the biggest selling book ever;
...and the rewards of heaven are so wonderful and tempting;
...
...
Why the hell are there so few christians!?
What eventually turns everyone else off?
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoTo unite ALL religions, and atheists and agnostics... Can we agree on at least ONE thing...?
Haemorrhoids are a pain in the a*se.
Can we agree and shake hands?
(After we've washed them)
22 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWho lives in La-La Land?
