  • Can I use rose hip oil to treat/relieve my one-month-old baby's Atopical Dermatitis (infant eczema)?

He has developed some pretty bad allergic patches on his cheeks, chin and behind his ears. He doesn't sleep well because of the itch and he becomes irritable a lot of the time. Please help me? I'd like some home-remedy suggestions.

I've taken him to a pediatrician, but would like some more home-remedy or traditional suggestions. Thanks!

  • Your thoughts, if you please, on this quote by Winston Churchill?

"A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty."

How does this quote apply to the way you approach certain issues in your life, career, family, relationships, etc? You are welcome to share examples or your experiences.

How do we know if we are being pessimistic when approaching a problem or issue? Might it be that we are simply being cautious in our decision-making?

And what of opportunists; how do they see things?

Quite a lot to ponder on, forgive me. I do love discussions. Would any of you care to share?

  • How did you spend your free time before the Age of the Internet?

... at least, if you are old enough to remember how it was back then!

Does the Internet monopolize most of your free time now? Or do you have a way to allocate enough time for your other hobbies/family/friends… etc.

And I’m not saying that the Internet is a bad thing or anything. I’m just reflecting on how things were so different, before.

Hoping many would care to share!

  • Recommend me a good fiction to read, please?

I read almost everything from thrillers, horror, fantasy to historical fiction, etc. I'm not too partial to contemporary drama, romance or chick flicks though.

Anne Rice, Dean Koontz, Stephen King, JK Rowling, Tolkien, Haruki Murakami, Margaret George, Michael Crichton, John Grisham, Matthew Reilly, Robert Harris, David Gemmell (his Troy series/trilogy) and Jeffrey Archer are just some of my favorite authors. I'd like to expand from here, so feel free to recommend anyone else you feel I might enjoy reading.

A good series from the Fantasy genre perhaps? Oh and I'm also SO into vampires, heh heh.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Do you usually give the Best Answer to those whose opinions coincide with yours or...?

to those who are able to provide insights from alternative vantage points?

Do we often seek affirmation for our own philosophies? Or are we truly interested in what other people have to say, even if their thoughts differ from ours entirely?

How was it. Or maybe you have a good Ramadan memory to share?

  • Betrayal: How do you cope… and keep yourself from hating?

Or is it that we often confuse the hurt with hate?

Betrayal is truly painful, especially when inflicted by those close to us. Or worse, when betrayed by a loved one. And then suddenly the love turns into hate … or is it really hate we feel?

How does one recover from a betrayal?

  • Do habitual cross-dressers use the Gents' or the Ladies' when they have to "go"?

    Male or Female cross-dressers both.

Please, I do not mean to poke fun at anyone at all. I'm just genuinely curious to know how they address certain technicalities when it comes to adjusting themselves within society.

In Thailand they are now starting to provide third-gender restrooms, as cross-dressing is an acknowledged element in their society:

  • What was the last time you tried listing down the things you've always taken for granted in life?

Can you figure out a few?

So what do you do now?

Maybe it will do us some good to remind each other of the things we might have taken for granted by sharing our collective thoughts about it here. It's a very human oversight, and something we might never realize unless we pause and reflect on it objectively.

Well now... would you care to share?

  • What does it really mean, when one is being “cruel” in order to be “kind”?

By “cruel” I do not mean physically, as in torture or pain infliction.

What are the instances that justify this course of action in conflicts -- or is it justifiable at all?

If it is, who justifies it in the first place?

Would you resort to this measure if you felt you had no other choice?

What do you do then, when every fiber of your conscience revolts against it? How do you deal with the guilt?

Too many questions, I know. I felt I needed to give supply additional points to ponder, for contextual reasons.

Rather paradoxical, when thought about it in the literal sense.

And quite a dilemma, you might say.

    Care to share?

    Opine as you may.

    Thank you for your time.

  • Greetings, poets. For the past year I've been resurrecting a lost love for poetry writing and wondered if ...?

... any of you would care to read and pass some comments over one of the more recent poems that I've written. I need to know how my writing would fare with the public. Many thanks in advance!

    Feelings Unnamed

    I found it rather funny

    I've waded through the dictionary

But I could not seem to find

    The words that could define

Or the ones that would describe

    The feelings that I ride

    Bursting unseen deep inside

With shock waves that won't subside

    Words hold little meaning

    Never really succeeding

    In giving it a form

    Something so out of norm

    I could find no precedence

    To feelings so unbidden

Something I could not bring to say

    Thus unspoken it would stay

    Nothing with which to compare

    No images I could share

    For none has ever seen

    What the painting holds within

    A private and personal decor

In a room guarded with a locked door

No open windows from which to peek

A look that none could ever seek

    Sealed shut in airtight containers

    Of impenetrable ceramic opaqueness

A secret treat without a name

    A delicacy untouched, thus unstained

    Never sampled by connoisseurs

Made with no known spice or flavors

    A culinary hardest to pronounce

    So it passes unannounced

Still these words could not portray

The emotions that I keep at bay

I hope the time soon comes to claim

A day the feelings would have a name

And when the doors ceremoniously open

When windows lift their blinding curtains

I shall invite you to be the one

To pull the red ribbons undone...

  • What is the worth of words spoken if not for the truth that comes with them?

What are the situations that would compel you to say words that are untrue?

How easily do untrue words come to you?

Do you think that a frequent disregard for the truth in the words spoken by a person would lessen the person’s reliability?

A lot of questions, I know. I just feel so strongly about this. I know that some would lie out of necessity, but just how far should one carry it? Elaborate however you may, thanks.

  • How do you avoid transgressing varied social boundaries in your interactions with the people on the internet?

Accidental blunders do happen sometimes, in situations where different people from different social and cultural backgrounds all over the world meet online every day. Have you ever gone through an awkward situation where you have unintentionally offended sentiments or values of others? How did you deal with it?

How important is it to you to not offend like this? Or is it something that you think everyone should expect to happen once in a while and therefore, it shouldn’t be a huge matter?

Care to share? I haven’t asked a question in ages. That felt good!

  • Capital Punishment: What are you thoughts on the Death Penalty?

If you feel it necessary, what do you think is the most “humane” method of implementing it?

    Note:

I wish this to be an intellectual discussion based on the aspects of morality and humanity or anything that influenced your sensibilities on the subject. I would also truly appreciate it if we could keep this civil and objective.

    Many thanks, in advance.

  • How TRUTHFUL are we of ourselves with the FRIENDS we make in CYBERSPACE?

What keeps a person true and honest when it is so easy to lie and deceive here? How much of the virtue of truthfulness do we uphold when we know that no one would know any better if we tempt a deception?

"Perhaps nobody yet has been truthful enough about what 'truthfulness' is." - Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche
