I'm usually fine with word equations, but this one is really throwing me off. The question is:

The perimeter of a pool table is 30ft. The table is twice as long as it is wide. What is the length of the pool table?

I know that the answer is 5, but what would the equation be? Help would really be appreciated!

I'm fine with regular equations, just really bad when it comes to word problems. I have 3 different problems. If anyone could solve it explain the answer I would really appreciate it!

1. The larger of two numbers is three times the smaller. The sum of the two numbers is 6. What are the numbers?

2. A class of 24 students hopes to collect 1,200 plastic bottles per week. In the first week, the students collected 34 bottles each. This was not enough. How many more bottles per student must the class collect to meet the weekly goal of 1,200?

3. Five dollars more than half the price of a sweater comes to $45.49. A student wrote the following equation to find the sweater price: n/2+5=$45.49. What should the correct equation be? What does the sweater cost?

I have to write an essay (actually, more like a sample) about an activity beyond my regular classes that has helped my personal growth for a student of the year thing that my dad forced me into to. I chose band. Does this sounds okay? How do I add to this?

Extracurricular activities are important to any student's growth. They help develop skills and build experiences that will serve him or her later in life. As with many, band is a passion that has attributed to my growth over time. It has taught me cooperation, self-discipline, determination, and self-confidence.

To participate in band, one must have dedication to practice and strive for achievement.

What should I talk about after that? I really suck at writing.

I have a lymph node behind my ear that is swollen. It's been swollen for about a year. When it was first swollen, it was tender. But now, its as hard as a rock and immobile. It has shrunken a little since it swelled a year ago, but not by much. And when I say it's hard, IT IS AS HARD AS A ROCK. And this past week, I have lost 10 pounds without doing anything. In fact, I feel like I've been eating more than normal. And I'm not sure if this is related, but my armpits have been SUPER itchy lately, and it isn't my deodorant because I've been using the one for years. It isn't my psoriasis because if it was it would be raised and scaly looking. And I've been having night sweats. I'll wake up in the middle of the night completely covered in sweat. Any ideas? I'm a 13 year old girl by the way. Thanks!

My grandma got a new dog. A lady from her beauty shop had a friend who had cancer, so she couldn't financially take care of the dog and also she would be away a lot for chemotherepy. My grandma offered to take it. The lady gave her a big plastic bag of food (which I found out was Pedigree adult: complete nutrition for dogs) and a can of pedigree choice cuts wet dog food. She said that she likes them mixed together, but she didn't tell my grandma how much. So if I would want 2/3 of the food to dry and 1/3 of it to be wet, what would the measurements be when I combine them? By the way, she's 2 years old, looks like a Shih-Tzu, and is medium sized. Best answer gets 5 stars. :)

Okay, so the right of my sternum, has this pressure sensation. There's a slight pain in that area, especially when I take a deep breath. I feel it's somewhat hard to breathe, and the only way I can get the air I need is to take a deep breath. This happened suddenly. I am 13 year old girl, so I doubt it's any heart issues. What does this sound like?

Im a 13 year old girl. About a month ago, I started having headaches. I get them about the same time everytime (I don't get them everyday, just most days) and they feel the same. Throbbing, accompanied by nausea, dizziness, abnormal gait, and fatigue. They happen on my forehead on both sides. They don't go away with pain killers. And my feet feel like they're feathers and really light, causing the abnormal gait. The pain is mild to moderate. What could this be?

I don't see why everyone likes it. I think it's just stupid really. I actually live near them, I still don't find them interesting. Maybe just me?

I get zits on my upper lip, and I doubt I have heart problems. I'm guessing the chart is just to get people to buy organic beauty products... Still, is it true?

The chart, is it true? I don't think so because I have zits on my upper lip and I really doubt I have any heart problems. The only one I believe is the one on the chin.

I've never felt this pain before. It's a stabbing pain and its to the right of my belly button. I'm lactose intolerant, but its never made me hurt like this before. It's an odd feeling. Every once in a while, there's this stabbing then this kind of slight burning sensation moving up and down my torso. What could be happening?

Okay, my mom has brown eyes and my dad has these poop green eyes. I have light greyish green eyes; they're blueish in some light. My grandma and grandpa on my dad's side have poop green eyes. My grandma (on my mom's side) had dark brown eyes. And my grandpa has blue eyes. How did I get my eye color?
